http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/transcript-bernie-sanders-meets-news-editorial-board-article-1.2588306He talked about Israel killing 10K innocent people in Gaza in the latest war which was started by Hamas. the real numbers are closer to 2000 dead total, at least of which were Hamas operatives. i won't go into conflicting distribution of those casualties because it's not interesting but suffice to say that any figure given by any international agency and/or human rights organizations are taken from the palestinians authority data. in Gaza, the flourishing democracy that it is, the palestinian authority is basically Hamas, an ISIS like organization that seeks to establish an Islamic Caliphate in the middle east. the numbers are not the real issue, the real issue is that this guy just kept contradicting himself over and over.
One of his other bright recurring themes is that you need to treat the palestinians equally in order to achieve peace in the Middle East. it is tiring old formula that basically blames the existence of Israel in everything wrong with the Middle East, a formula that falls apart every oh, couple of months. this time it is especially evident seeing how Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and Lebanon goes to the shit with nothing to do with Israel. the bitter truth is that the Arabs are more than capable of doing that to themselves, far better and harder than Israel could have ever done to them.
The bottom line is that the man is clueless in everything related to the Middle East but he allow himself to issue those statements because he wants the Arab/Muslim voters which are far more effective than the Jewish voters, because we Jews still can't decide over the People's front for Judea or Judea's people front.
I am not sure if he will be good for the U.S, i used to think so, but then he started to seem like an empty socialist slogan (Before and unrelated to his remarks about Israel).
Bernie sanders doesn't give a damn about Israel or the palestinians (Evident by his extreme ignorance as shown a month or so ago), he just, like any good old politician, sees an opening and takes it.
If Americans pick their candidate over who's side they are with the Israeli-Arab conflict, then you guys are stupid. pick what's best for you, not what's best for some Israeli or Arab lobbyists.
My bigger problem is that all our politicians on both sides of the spectrum love to kiss Israeli ass at any opportunity. I'm just glad to see one that doesn't get some attention for an instant. It's not the issue that's going to make up my mind, but all other things being equal, I'd rather see us drop our support of Israel... if not completely then to some extent.
Good thing i don't give a damn what you think
if you wish to support ISIS/Hamas, its perfectly your right.
