That 46/42 argument is idiotic.

What is idiotic is throwing comparisons to prejudiced groups at me over and over again.  It's a childish little thing.  Be just annoying enough to piss someone off but shy just short of breaking the rules.  Then a week later do it again.  Be the maximum possible troll you can be while slipping under the radar.

It's nice that you think it's idiotic.  But frankly your opinion aint worth a damn.

Citation needed?

I mean, in a lot of ways they seem the same.

Your burden of proof seems to be on the wrong side there.

Reelya's entire point is that prejudice has nothing to do with it

But frankly your opinion aint worth a damn.
Irrelevant shittery

Your burden of proof seems to be on the wrong side there.
It's not a main point but this World Bank article seems to imply that more complicated bureaucracy is a cause of corruption.

Ah yes the perfect way to say that prejudice has nothing to do with it is to tell someone they are wrong because they thinking mimics white reverse racism claims.

I'm still trying to come up with a situation where it would actually make sense for Sanders to win. He's not winning the popular vote. He's not winning the delegate count. You could argue all day and night about superdelegates, but I doubt they'll even matter by the time the convention rolls around.

Seriously, Sanders cannot win. He'd need 60% of the popular vote in the next primaries, and he'd still be losing the popular vote overall. Clinton leads Sanders in votes by 2.4 million. The superdelegates for this election probably won't even come into play.

All the wishful thinking in the world won't stop reality from doing what it does best.
Of course part of the point is that even if he doesn't win he could still very easily have enough of a delegate count to force the writing of some policy changes into the democratic party political goals (IIRC this happened previously in the early 1900's maybe? I don't remember the exact date or reasons, but I do remember that it has happened at least a couple of times before). For example even if he doesn't win the nomination it would be well within the realm for him to press something like striving towards a single-payer health care system, free college, or the reduction of big money in politics into the democratic party's official list of goals for the political future. And regardless of what voters think that's honestly what Sanders set out to do at the very beginning with his run for president after all; to force discussion on his particular set of issues and, if possible, get action moving towards solving them.

I don't know, "bribe me and I'll issue you a permit, don't and I won't" seems a lot less complex than "fill out these 200 pages of confusing forms and await the judgement of several government agencies."

Your election system is byzantine.
Primaries aren't part of the election system. Nobody is being elected, it's just an internal process by the political parties to determine which candidates they're going to use their resources to support. The only reason they're such a big deal is that no president has been elected who wasn't part of one of the two major parties since the early days of the nation.

Honestly, we should just throw the whole mess out and use a parliamentary system instead.

To be fair, the federalists in the first elections weren't really a party so much as a faction of people who agreed with each other. The same for their opponents, at first, I believe, but they coalesced into parties fairly quickly. Though the federalists also ceased to exist soon after Hamilton was killed, iirc.

Given how Sanders responds to direct policy implementation questions, I'm not sure that's a bad thing.
Um.

Add beer and crappy music and that's literally the definition of a party.

That's because it's normally "Give me some money and I'll grease the wheels and get you a permit tomorrow. Otherwise, you can fill out these 200 pages on your own."

Neither one of which is analogous to the situation of "Hillary Clinton has political surrogates who know all the right people, Bernie Sanders told those people to fuck off."

You don't see a conflict of interest in the Hillary Campaign handling the campaign cash of many superdelegates?

I thought we were talking about joint fundraising?  What you are talking about sounds like a violation of campaign fundraising laws.
