Would probably be more along the lines of their high horse getting them off. >.>

The polls were actually right for once in Louisiana.  It certainly helps that David Vitter (the Republican) was a scumbag and his almost decade old prostitution scandal finally came back to bite him.

If anybody wants to see what a successful interrogator looks like, I'd recommend the works of Jack Cloonan, former FBI interrogator. You might know him as the terrifyingly persuasive guy who was on a clip in the Torture episode of Last Week Tonight.

He's effective.

Trump wants to bring back waterboarding. Because torture works so well.
Apparently being opposed to waterboarding is political correctness? ???

Also relevant Politico analyses what happened with GOPs goal to be more inclusive. My explaination is that Trump happened and everybody kept trying to out-Trump Trump when the usual things that would destroy a candidate didn't destroy him, and they are still trying to out-Trump Trump to an extent.

Also, I think Nate Silver should do an analysis of that.

edit: derp, guys name is Nate, not Nick, lol

The thing is that politics doesn't get much attention at this point so there isn't much to analyze.  Unless there is a political earthquake, it's hard to say what will start mattering when the political cycle starts becoming more prominent.

Couple of new national-level polls are out, the first since the last GOP debate and the Paris attacks.

The result? Trump Re-ascendant and Carson falling. The gap between them, at one point a statistical dead heat, is now an average of 10%.
Rubio and Cruz are the other beneficiaries, both back in double-digit territory.
Bush continues his long, dark teatime of the soul at around 5.5%.
Carly "I pull random numbers out of my ass and then defend them to the death" Fiorina has plummeted from her high of 11.5% down to around 3.5%.
Really, everyone other than Trump, Carson, Rubio, Cruz and Bush is stuck below 4% and unlikely to gain any traction.

On the Dem side....meh. Nothing much changed. Clinton is nursing a huge +22 point lead. Sanders' best hope was back in September when he was within single-digits of Her Royal Clintonness. At this point, he's back to being a "conversation starter" to try and pull her leftwards. The more worrisome sign (if you're not a Republican) is that in head-to-head polling, Clinton is doing progressively worse against all GOP potentials, especially since the Paris attacks. That may flatten out as time goes by and terrorism becomes a secondary concern once again to most Americans.

Huckabee and Christie did get a slight bounce, but it doesn't look like they'll escape the undercard, meanwhile, Kasich has been dropping.

If the debate were done today, it sort of looks like the only people who will be on the main stage are Carson, Trump, Cruz, Rubio, and Bush, with Fiorina being on the fence.

Can't stump to Trump. I swear I'm going to back him, it's all we deserve.
