He said "some 'scientists'." I'm not sure if that means he's referring to conspiracy nuts who think they're scientists, or he's referring to actual archaeologists.

With him, I wouldn't be surprised if he's conflating the two.  He doesn't seem to use air-quotes, at least as quoted in the Guardian.

Nobody with access to a sarcophagus would have hair like that.

That's what he wants you to think.

To be fair, there's probably a few actual archaeologists out there that are also conspiracy nuts. Just because you have a bughumping insane theory about one thing doesn't mean you can't make reasonable contributions in another area of your field. I could see someone that's made strong contributions re: bronze-age europe holding "but it was aliens" theories re: the pyramids, ferex. Sometimes you get a little crazy about stuff outside your particular specialization.

E: Mind you, that doesn't preclude the entirely more likely supposition that carson's bugnuts. It's just a possibility, not a likelihood :P

...they mention that, but not how he said that it was likely because of aliens? I mean, the "grain storage" theory of the pyramids was actually a theory for a while; it was debunked once archaeologists started actually going into the things of course, but it was a theory that is mentioned in literature.

I thought it was because Pyramids obviously put a granary in each of your cities when your Civilization builds that wonder.

Speaking as someone with a degree in archaeology, I can say credibly that there are no reputable archaeologists of any kind who think that the Pyramids were built to hold grain (for one thing, they're almost entirely solid, not hollow). Not are there any reputable archaelogists who think they were built by aliens. Crazy Hair Guy on Discovery Channel is not a reputable archaeologist.

“And I don’t think it’d just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain.”

I still can't even parse that last bit. Don't think what would disappear over the course of time? The grain? The storage space? The pyramid? The pharaonic graves? Carson's sanity?

All of them. Inside an invisible, larger pyramid.

I think what he's saying is that if you were looking for some evidence of that biblical granary, it'd have to be pretty big and built to lastTM, and the pyramids are pretty big. Or something. My money's on the Eiffel Tower being the granary.

Except the Eiffel Tower wasn't built to last! It was built for that one particular World's Fair and then it was too iconic to tear down ever since (which is why there are so many maintenance problems with it now :P).

That last sentence makes sense to me. "With how much grain Joseph had to store, any storage space would be freaking massive and wouldn't just disappear."

'Course it's bullshit, but it's what he's saying.

That's what the lamestream media would have you believe. Clearly, Joseph's granary would have to be pretty tall, and the Eiffel Tower is pretty tall. Not only that, but it'd have to store grain "beyond measure", you could easily measure the space in the pyramids! It'd be a lot harder to measure how much grain could fit in the Eiffel Tower. It'd be spilling out, the slope would be messed up, some would pile up on the ledges...
