It's not a troll, he was planning on resigning in November anyway. I think he's resigning now, partially because he's accomplished his life goal of meeting the pope, and partially because he just doesn't see a reason to take all of the abuse he'll get for stopping the shutdown.

Clinton is worse than Warren but better than whatever Republican might be elected if we don't put forth a strong candidate

• Give illegal immigrants amnesty if they pay a fine.
• Believes climate change is a problem. (although, being small government, he probably won't do much about it. Maybe just a little.)

I live in Ohio, where (Thanks to Kasich) companies are legally allowed to have you strip-searched on a whim as part of a drug test, the schools and libraries are in the toilet because Kasich cut most of the funding, and all our large cities were merged into a couple of voting districts to keep Kasich in power, not to mention that he makes Scott Walker look union-friendly. There is NOTHING good about the son of a bitch.

Sounds even screwier than Jeb Bush. Although the only complaint about Jeb Bush AFAIK is that he screwed the Florida education system.

Also, I wonder when the REALLY dirty laundry and the ugliest skeletons in their closets will start coming out in the debates, then again, Kasich hasn't been attacked that much in the debates yet.

They're all like that though.  It's true, it's convenient that the party system clusters views but it doesn't do much to foster interesting debate.  All the republican candidates I've seen have the same bad ideas about how to fix education.

All the republican candidates I've seen have the same bad ideas about how to fix education.

The same bad ideas get really stale after a while.  I think that as citizens we should step up and start voicing some different bad ideas about how to fix education.  For instance, Finnish language classrooms educate their students very well so we should start teaching our classes in Finnish.  Not teaching our students to speak Finnish, but teaching math, history, composition, etc. in the Finnish language.
