If she agreed to pull some Sopranos shit and the Tea Party Caucus just happened to wind up in the Potomac with cement shoes....I *might* be tempted to vote for her.

The really great thing is that if she did that you wouldn't even need to cast your vote anymore.

Congressman Emanuel Cleaver introduces bill that would make it a federal offense to enforce laws solely for the purpose of raising revenue.

That is an interesting source site.

I share the author's skepticism though, I don't really see how this law could be enforced outside of obvious cases like the quotas mentioned at the end of the article. That's a worthy end in itself, but I feel like the end result would just be more effort to punish whistle blowers. The actual text of the bill isn't released yet, but if it doesn't include anything to help them out I don't have much hope for any noticeable gains. Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but there doesn't seem to actually be a lot to this. At least not yet.

Agreed.  Although, I think it's noteworthy just to see that there's finally some political will at that level to acknowledge the issue at all.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Between the article content, and that pic, I'd swear that was an Onion article.

Chris Christie signs pro-Tesla bill.

Heh, he knows the lay of the land. Seriously though, who besides the obviously corrupt officials who made the decision and the dealers that bought them thought that they shouldn't be able to sell their cars directly? I guess New Jersey has its reputation for a reason.

Lemme know if this is behind a paywall, but evidently research suggests that it'd be about $100,000,000,000 cheaper to have universal health care in the US than the system we have now, due to administrative overhead.
