Joe Biden will not run in 2016.

NINJAEDIT: I can't believe I didn't get ninja'd.

Yes you did get ninja'd, although technically I didn't ninja with a link, just a statement.

Biden is...... NOT running for president, okay then.

He said that the 'window has closed', so, yeah.....

And I get ninja'd to the response that I didn't ninja misko, lol.
Metaninja is best ninja.

Meanwhile, some of the Republican candidates have bigger problems.

I get what The Onion is satiring on Carson, but I'm not sure on Huckabee. Other than the whole 'head stuck in a hole' 'in the sand' thing.

Also, The Onion making satire on those two is the least of their problems.

I think they're satirizing Huckabee's whole country-boy schtick.

And I'm not suggesting that getting a mention in the Onion is a serious problem for them. Hell, their satire on Bobby Jindal reminded me that Jindal is still running.

From the ones within the past week that ask about what people would vote for if Biden wasn't running, mostly Clinton with Sanders getting the rest.

This will probably lead to a press overreaction.  Taking Biden out of the polls makes Clinton look better despite changing nothing.  So a bunch of pressers who dont understand statistics will think "Hm, I haven't seen Sanders leading a poll in a while, Clinton must be soaring!"  Then we'll get a bunch of lavish praise for Clinton because that's the story.  I might be able to come into this thread and pontificate about the fact that the press is underselling Sanders.

Every congressmember should read this.....
http://www.politico.com/agenda/story/2015/10/congress-federal-budget-continuing-resolution-000270

Also, a default is looking pretty good about now if it's the only way to break the cycle and they don't seem willing to break the cycle themselves.

I can attest that my colleagues over in the public sector side of things are getting "in the event of a Federal shutdown..." type notices pretty much annually now, and often earlier and earlier each year. As the article states, it inhibits long-term planning because no one wants to start a project that may get put on hold for months right at a crucial point. And on top of the disruption and waste, it's a tremendous morale-killer. Who wants to work for an organization that seemingly decides at random to put you on furlough for an indeterminate amount of time, usually just before the holidays? And if you're in a "mission-critical" job like military or law enforcement, it's even more fun -- you still have to show up for work, even though you're not getting paid. That's the kind of shit you hear about in Third World countries teetering on the brink of collapse.

... looks good like jumping off a cliff to end a cycle of self-harm sounds like a good idea, I guess. I mean, the cycle's broken? Maybe. And probably in a technical sense instead of some kind of "And now the healing can begin" sort of thing.

But you're also a shattered mush of flesh at the bottom of a cliff.

I know it makes absolutely no sense to go default just to fix something that can be fixed by simply AGREEING (or agreeing to disagree, as it were) and COMPROMISING on things, but maybe it's the only way our politicians will learn since they (well, primarily the Republicans) refuse to compromise on things as critical as the budget.

Also, what RedKing said about it usually being the kind of thing you hear from third world countries on the brink of collapse.

Edit: It's also been sounding increasingly like it's been harder and harder for the Federal Reserve to hold back default every time we get close, we're going to reach a point where we have absolutely no choice.

Edit2: AND, btw, those credit rating companies have said that they'll drop our rating even further if we keep this shit up.
