How are you defining "swing voters"?

Well the typical way one does this is voters who might vote either the left or the right.  For instance in the article you made the dank meme about, the author made a contrast between "closet partisans" and "true independents".  But judging by your hashtags, you think you know better.  So please, tell us what your definition is.

That is my definition as well. The point I was making with the snarky hashtags is that the headline seems to imply Sanders is doing worse than the other candidates among those voters, when the article itself states--right there in the bit that I quoted--that he is not. Do you disagree?

Er...  I meant she won over swing voters in the primary between her and Sanders, not "independents" in the general election.  Maybe that wasn't clear.  I'm talking about the Democrats who were on the fence about who to nominate, and decided to support Clinton.

That's why I mentioned that she had to become more progressive...  That's probably going to *hurt* in the general, not help, if only because it pulls her away from moderates.  I still think she has it in the bag though. 

Then again, Trump is an absolute wildcard.  He attracts people who would normally never vote, because they suddenly have a chance to "get back" at the system...  By voting in a (possibly incompetent) business tycoon to somehow fix everything.  Or at least send some sort of spiteful message.

Well, I'm not sure how serious that is, but it's trigger warnings are actually very similar to that phrase. They're both trite, mostly useless, statements that cause some level of personal annoyance to me.

The idea that there's an obligation to preface any shocking news with "you might want to sit down for this" is patently ridiculous, pretty much in the exact same way that demanding trigger warnings is (in most contexts, like I said earlier, it's Toady's right to demand whatever sort of conduct he wants when we're talking on his forum).

For people who actually have triggers they're incredibly useful.  Yeah, people are getting way too wound up about them, but for a rape survivor or stalker victim (the really common causes of triggers) they make life a lot better. Including them is common courtesy, just like using your turn signal or saying 'excuse me' when you might bump into someone.

Also, why on earth do what are esssentially content warnings cause you personal annoyance?  Do you also rant about movie ratings?

I'm just going to pop in here to point out that the movie ratings, at least those done by the MPAA, tend to be highly subjective, and by nature, tend to lack any real detail about the content, other than some extremely vague suggestions ('Sexuality', 'Strong Language" etc...) which are of little use.

I think there's a difference between warning people with medically recognized conditions (PTSD's a thing) of things that might aggravate those conditions, or in cases where things really are that bad (9/11), than the typical SJW crying "I WAS TRIGGERED BY THIS".

Ugh.

And yeah, MPAA ratings, they are Not Really That Helpful.
