Hypothetical first debate between Sanders and Trump, just for laughs I'll point out that theres obvious bias here because it's by a former speechwriter for George W. Bush, but hey, it's for laughs anyway.

Now someone just needs to make a hypothetical debate between Clinton and Trump....

Sadly that might not be a hypothetical...

Honestly if you hadn't mentioned the author I would have thought it was written by a lesser daily show writer. It still pokes fun at Sanders but it's fairly soft fun.

FunnyOrDie has been working on a 50-minute Trump biopic starring Johnny Depp.

It's beautiful, especially if you're old enough to remember the 1980's.

EDIT: Also, Ben Carson says he's getting pressure to stay in the race from his "millions of supporters". I think he's been taking lessons from Carly on pulling large numbers out of your ass. He also says he can win South Carolina. I'm guessing his plan for this is to have all the other candidates (except Jim Gilmore) struck down by the hand of the Lord. Because anything less won't do. Actually, he might not want to spare Gilmore, because Gilmore could leapfrog Carson in the polls in that scenario.

You're about as well informed as Gilmore, interestingly enough.

Not sure if there's an Oregon thread on the boards, so I'll just post this here: Live audio of the remaining militants at the refuge, panicking as they're surrounded by the FBI. https://youtu.be/cOlrSain0lk

They're very panicky. Lots of bravado about dying for the cause and needing to protect the Constitution. One lady trying to be reasonable about things. Guardian covering it here: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/live/2016/feb/11/oregon-standoff-escalates-fbi-armed-occupants-malheur-wildlife-refuge-live

It's surreal, really. Some "Man in the High Castle" kinda thing. I'm listening to people who really believe that they're going to die, in a pitched battle, as a final stand against the overwhelming forces of oppression and evil. I'm not sure... what to do with that.

The "reasonable" lady is Nevada legislator Michelle Fiore, who was one of the militants' biggest supporters among lawmakers. I'm not going to fault her for trying to defuse this, but it's an uphill battle. These mooks are incredibly paranoid and ready to die.

"Reasonable" in this case meaning "not jumping at the chance to go out guns a-blazin'", yeah. Things seem a bit calmer at the moment, but there's still a very good chance this won't end well.

  ::)

I'm impressed though, she should have been in law enforcement as a hostage negotiator. She's actually driving out to the refuge (assumedly to reassure them that nobody is going to kill them because a lawmaker is present).

EDIT: Apparently Franklin Graham was also headed out to join them, but it sounds like the FBI is refusing him admittance. Which I hope stands. WTF is this, the right-wing Jerry Lewis Telethon??

As many prayer breaks as they've had, I wouldn't be surprised. Waiting for Gavin the radio guy to bust in with a 1-800 number.

PPE: Oop, sounds like they lost Fiore for a second.

I'm sure nobody at this rational meeting of the minds has Jonestown in the back of their mind.

Oh good, they're not actually in the refuge anymore. So the smear will be easier to clean up.

EDIT: And now Fiore and this Gavin dude are just feeding their paranoid schizo conspiracy bullshit. Which I understand from the standpoint of neogtiations, but if it's just riling them up more, it's probably counter-productive.

Jonestown? Nah, but they're probably experts on the Waco siege by now.
