Feminism the idea that women should be treated equally is perfectly intact.

Feminism the ideology and feminism the political view... are.

And as people have pointed out. Ideas are not people, they do not deserve any special protection against scrutiny.

And... Why are you vilifying feminism? You are contradicting yourself.

Because Feminism isn't one thing. There is no contradiction there.

Just because you agree with an idea "Women should have equal rights to that of men" doesn't mean you necessarily agree to an idea's ideology.

No, I did quite a bit of research and used to be a feminist.

In the end though I found that things became too nuanced and in the end the types of feminism I got into were too tyrannical and puritan.

I maintain my position on your position. I have yet to see any tyranny, and that's silly in and of itself, how can an oppressed gender be "tyrannical"? Do you fear the same oppression women experience happening to you? That's a good reason to try to stop it happening to women.

To my knowledge gender equality has been increasing every year. How has it become more dangerous for people to speak out?  In no country has this trend been going backwards, unless you count some of the hell holes in the middle-east.

I was not aware that was a thing. Maybe network with more feminist groups. they have differing opinions on porn and such, but slut shaming is a big no no.

I follow a lot of porn stars that are hardcore feminists actually.

Though putting a focus on sex and the orgasm to a heavy degree is more of a white middle class feminist thing.

this is misinformation. That kind of violence happens in America all the time. Just because we don't make women cover their faces, doesn't mean they aren't second class citizens or don't face dangers for speaking out.

Mostly because everyone has an idea of how men and women can be equal.

Some forms of feminism do find issues with porn.... while others have no issue.

Some believe that male oriented media is bad in it of itself... while others have no idea (though the middle ground is that male oriented media is fine in an environment where female oriented media is abundant)

There are very few points that you can get all forms of Feminism to agree on.

I've been on 4chan as well. It was mostly people talking about things because 4chan is a website where people talk about things, not an amorphous being of evil. Saying that 4chan is against women is like saying that Bay12 is against Communism or something like that. Maybe some people in 4chan are sexist, but there's no way to know how many because everybody posts anonymously and millions of people go on 4chan every day.

that's just confusing in between all the threads I remember about how inferior and dumb women are and things they would do to slut shame and hurt women on there in general.

It's just as likely they were also responsible for the doxxing though. It's like, the majority of 4chan is horribly racist, but there are small pockets that aren't racist at all.
