@smeep
Aside from the fact that all of those things you linked appear to be using the same studies for their statistics, they don't actually answer the thing I was asking.
I was asking what you think of the study Reelya linked. Why do you think the results came out in a way that contradicts your worldview?

This thread is moving so fast it's on fire. Or maybe that's just the precursor of a flame war, I don't know. Smeep Reelya's sourced their argument, it is a bit dodgy tacitly stepping around it instead of addressing it

Quote
According to a 2014 report from the United States Bureau of Justice Statistics covering the period 1995 to 2013,[1] 0.2% of women aged 18–24 enrolled in a college, university or trade school were victims of rape. A total of 0.6% experienced any kind of sexual assault or attempted sexual assault, with approximately 50% occurring at home or away from campus. The rate of sexual assault among women in that age group was 20% lower than that for those not attending school.

Source: smeeprocket's link

So according to  Bureau of Justice, it's 0.6% for all campus women being sexually assaulted, and campus women are less likely to be raped than non-campus women, with 50% of the campus rapes not occuring at campus. Probably half of those incidents don't even involve guys from the college, so let's say about 0.3% of college girls get raped by a guy from college, during 1995 - 2013. you know, just going off the data Smeeprocket linked and all.

You're seriously drinking some koolaid if you think it's "record numbers".

look at some of my statistics please. Forcible is an ugly term because bot all rape is forcible, it puts men at an advantage, but the threat of force is often enough.

Most rape is date rape and acquaintance rape. We often know our rapists. It's harder to fight back when you don't want to believe that person would actually want to hurt you.

This discussion is moving a lot faster than really gives me the time to fully review a detailed study, but it smells fishy to me since it contradicts, in some ways, every other study. I agree with some of the conclusions, or agree that they are possible. Such as using coercive language and such to get sex. But I think claiming that men and women rape on equal levels is a little absurd.

also smeep wikipedia is about as good a source on anything as ED is on feminism. Even rape. I like that nice chart Reelya posted from the government.

Here's a few articles about female developers inside the industry?

There's totally no problems guys see everything's fine.

give a synopsis

Here's a few articles about female developers inside the industry?

Female developers calling out rampant sexual discrimination and harrassment from male co-workers.

And it's totally not like sexist ideas come out in video games. No, video games are a totally subjective art form, not like old cartoons ever were, oh no.

-snip-

The keywords there, my friend are REPORTED and FORCIBLE. According to politicians, it isn't forcible rape if the woman cocieves a child.

Here's a nice chart for you Does it prove a point?

Id be interested in their definition because BoJ also has a 12% rape rate for women as a whole last time I checked.

Okay, and I can probably find you dozens of movies where the "Nice GuyTM" gets the girl. Especially in the case of Jonah Hill.
Jonas Hill and nice guy in the same sentence?  He's immature, cocky, and pedantically vengeful in all his movies, as well as having the sex drive that drives this conversation.

You saw the quotes and TM right? He's angry, sloppy, and culturally, he's unappealing. Yet he gets the girl. Always.

Well no. People have long since expanded the term rape to include other things that isn't the forced down rape.

This thread is moving so fast it's on fire.

Yeah. Having a tough time keeping up. And some of the links people are giving are like 10 minutes of reading. And I'm not even sure why we're talking about rape and unattractive guys in movies in getting girls all of the sudden. I might have to bow out.

hence "nice guy" in fact, that's still too nice to be a nice guy.

yea honestly, rape statistics and arguing whether women get raped is unpleasant for me, and I'd really rather discuss women in video games. It's not that I won't discuss the other, but it is far more damaging to me psychologically than discussing video games.

The reason we are on rape is because we are on

"Do videogames make abuse worse in Real Life?"

As the current topic.

So we have to currently assess the damage.
