The militia captain dropped food in his room. They rotted and gave miasmas...
I had to use dfhack cleanowned to dump them.
That's why my militia never gets to carry food.

Yeah, I figured out how to discharge him... it seems you can't discharge a captain when there's no commander. It appeared to be a bug.

Spring, 124

A small elven caravan came. They don't bring logs anymore...
I bought an aardvark, some fruits and plenty of barrels(too lazy to make they).
My dorfs' clothes were being worn out. So I bought all their clothes as well.

Two of my war dogs chased a black bear and eventually drove it into a cage trap. Good dogs.
But next time I should be more careful because both dogs were wounded.

Glad to see bronzepalace has survived its first winter without major incident.  :)

Pardon me saying, but would this be better off in DF Community Games and Stories ?

Well, you're right, but if nothing else, we can also derail it in order to fit this board better.

Well I'm unsure what to do next. I mean, the place seems peaceful enough despite the evil biome. But what do I do if no migrants nor invaders come? ::)
I know with a population of 7, it'll probably be too peaceful.

Seize all the caravans possible. Then kill all but one of the traders. Yeah, should be enough to get ambushes.

LOL
Maybe I can try other goals:
1) Import/make as much bronze as possible (not using forge/melt trick)
2) Tame as many types of wild animals as possible.

or

3) Try to have as many babies as possible?

Summer, 124

I tried the new gelding system. The dogs sometimes fought back and knock out my gelder, funny.
I found hauling had a very low priority. When the human caravan came, no one even bothered to carry goods to the depot. So maybe I should reserve one relatively idle worker just in case.

Autumn

I focused mainly on animal training. Now I have two wombats and a red panda trained, but not tamed.

My animal trainer/miner has a puppy shield.

It had been quite eventless until Spring, 125.

Three wolves appeared.

My new militia commander chased one of them into a cage trap. Then he began running after the another two. The wolves were proved to be too fast for the short-legged axedwarf to catch, but soon one of them ran into another cage trap.

The last of them was caught by my war tiger and war bobcat(I bought them from the elven caravan a few days ago). The poor canine was scratched to death by the two big cats, literally.

Edit*
Well it seemed the tiger liked to grapple the target so the bobcat could scratch it.

Later, another group of seven wolves came. I caged anotehr two. The tiger killed one. My militia commander killed another. The fifth was killed by a war dog and the fisherdwarf. The rest of them escaped.

The militia commander fell into the river while fighting one of the wolves. But fortunately the river was not too deep so he didn't drown.

I was changing the militia commander frequently, sometimes I noticed, for example, a fisherdwarf felt nothing after seeing a several <animal> die. But suddenly the dorf had a thought: she is terrified while in conflict. "In the midst of conflict... I feel no terror."
Why? I sent her out to kill some deers. She had delt with wolves before.

Edit*
Season changed, and the thought became "Within the last season, she didn't feel anything while in conflict."

Well, it has been five years and I haven't had a single migrant(this is intended) nor baby(not intended).
I guess they will eventually die of old age so migrants will come. ::)

You just need some way to stuff all the married couples in a room together... maybe a false alarm with a very small burrow to make all the dwarves sit in the same room for about a day...

Sounds like a good idea.
I saw them throw parties while on break, though I'm not sure if there were married couples at all. Maybe I can remove their jobs since my fort has enough food and drink to last for years.

Sometimes I saw "Urist McFisherman throws a party at the clear glass table", but when I checked, he's the only one attending the party.

New development:
The miner and the bone carver are in love now. But the broker and the fisher hate each other, for unknown reason.
