David hands her the notebook.
"Go ahead, though. Read it. It'll enlighten you on a few things about me."

Akemi turns her nose up at it.
"No, I'm not going to read it. That's your private thoughts."

"I'm giving you permission to read it. It's nothing too bad."

Akemi frowns.
"Are you sure? You know, this is your private thoughts. I don't have any right to read them."

David slides the notebook onto her desk, returning to his normal seating position, looking forward. He doesn't say a word.
