Crashing when loading save

DF crashed while a game was being saved. Now when I try to load that game, DF crashes. Is there any way I can recover the save?

Ouch. That sort of thing is why I have seasonal backups enabled.

[AUTOSAVE:SEASONAL]
[AUTOBACKUP:YES]
in d_init.txt

I think the odds are against you unless you have any backups.

You should make a bug report on that save. What version are you using?

I have an autosave from a little while back, but further back than I would like. And where can Ipost a bugreport? Oh, and this is v 40.15

Version 40.15 is a bit old though as we're now on 40.19

The game often crashes while saving. The bad part is, you are never sure whether the save is usable. My current save is still usable, but I don't know if there's any side effect(bug), for example, some infos were saved while others weren't.

I don't use seasonal save because the game crashes more easily when I press keys while it is saving. Even if it has a backup, I still lose progress between saves.

I guess it is more or less a graphics issue. So when I want to save, I change the window back to its normal size, esc, save, don't touch anything until its done.

Make sure you disable save compression in the init file, it sometimes causes corruption of your savefiles and maybe it is at fault here.
