And to my knowledge there is no such thing as second hand KFC binges.

That would be the overweight people trying to crush me against the bus chassis. :<

My ideal system has all drugs (or almost all) regulated and sold like alcohol. People are taught about the effects and risks in high school so even people who don't want to take them can make more informed decisions and can better understand if any of their friends run into trouble on drugs. It's illegal to drive under the influence or do any other high-risk activities, and technology is encouraged that reduces the risks of drug use. For example, self-driving computerized cars could eliminate driving under the influence.

Fortunately, the kind of people that would need to be banned from using cannabis can't get a driving licence anyway (well, in theory at least), so what harm can they do?

Actually why even have a age limit for cannabis if it is so "harmless"?

I mean after all "eating KFC" is listed as more dangerous then doing pot.

It's harmless if you're an adult. Taking it in adolescence can negatively effect brain development, so it should be restricted to people above 21. I don't have time to read over it and check, but I think this study supports that.

I'm actually perfectly fine with leaving that up to parents. Same goes for alcohol.
I'm not. Only parents who don't need natural 20 rolls to even make simple wisdom and intelligence checks. Unfortunatly there seems to be a growing number of those who do.

I have not seen this among marijuana smokers I've known. Marijuana appears to be a substance that people use recreationally. I've never known a marijuana smoker to claim that they can't function without it, like coffee drinkers regularly do. I've never seen a marijuana smoker "fiending" for a fix the way coffee drinkers and tobacco smokers do. It's more "hey, wanna get high?" And they can take it or leave it. Same with LSD.
I've seen this, but only when it was because they were using Cannabis as self-medication for a pre-existing condition. So, basically they couldn't function without it in the same way that someone with clinical depression can't function without their Prozac, or an epileptic can't function without their Depakote.

I smoked daily for a year or two, then ran out and was out for 15 days. Had craving for a smoke at first, and then lit a cigarette and realized what I actually had was a mild tobacco addiction. I abstained from smoking any more cigs, and in 3-4 days I had no craving for smoking anything.

I support marijuana legalization for the same reason that the conservatives oppose it. Because its a slippery slope to legalizing magic mushrooms and LSD.

So 18 pages of discussion and no real argument against legalizing cannabis?

Funny story:

Some time ago here in the Netherlands a farmer was found quilty of growing cannabis on a large scale. Still he got not punishment at all because he used the regular electric net to grow the plants and declared his cannabis sales under company income when filling in his tax forms.

I suppose the gangsters that make their money off of large-scale distribution would have a problem with it.

They would probably sell cocaine instead

Cocaine is way harder to make, though. To make it on a large scale, you need a huge quantity of resources, and a fair amount of chemistry knowledge. Look up cocaine pasta if you want to know more. Same goes for heroin. Lots of nasty shit goes into both.

Just because it gets legalized doesn't mean it can't still be run in the spirit of organized crime. Just look at the tobacco industry (or pretty much any major industry).

Taking them? Nope, never been interested in any of them. Seeing their effects firsthand? Yes, on many occasions. I hung with a pretty bad crowd as a teenager.
