"N-n-no, I-I-I..."

Quietly, the gears of Luc's mind ground to a halt, leaking a mixture of horror and embarrassment.

"Oh my. My apologies. I... I think I should go... that way.. and arrange things with the captain." Stheno curtsied in a rush as she quickly walked away from that situation. She could have sworn the girl was into Beryn. What did she think I was talking about?

: Whoa, dinnae do dat all ofa sudden, yer gunna maek me cowk!

: Ye shur aboot gonna buy stoof? Cap'n gonna kick our arses if we get a buncha silly hats fer all da crew *hic*

"Yeh, everyone should get a hat so we can recognize 'em at a distance! We should get Lucy a hat for her puppet, too."

Fer looked at Amberly as she came fuming over.
:"...more fighting?"

The nun shook her head and kept her voice low.

: "No. She 'apologized' for the fight earlier." The way she said the word made it clear how little she thought of the apology. "If this wasn't such an important quest I would leave right this instant."

Alicia wasn't drunk. But the idea of buying hats for every member of the crew made her so.

: "Oh Undine, yes! We should buy every one hats! Especially Aeisha! That way she don't have keep complaining about sun burn! It's peeeeerfect!"

Alicia turns the group around to look for a haberdashery!

"What, like one of those big wide hats, whatchacallit? Good idea!"

Fer sighed.
:"Maybe I can try talking to her later?"

: Oh me mother...

: Either yer too jaked or eh 'aven't had enuf, but ah'm gunna find out rite nao.

And with that Barry pulls out the beer canteen and takes a large swig of it.

"Heeeey, what kind of hat would you like Barry?"

Alicia sidled over next to Barry and lowered her voice.

: "Don't worry too much about it. I don't actually plan on buying a hat. I'm just glad to be running around instead of being attached at the hip to mophead."

Then she spoke up and addressed Beryn.

: "I think Barry needs a big ten gallon hat. One you can hide booze in."

Beryn considered this.

"Yeah, that sounds about right. So what's the deal with you and priest guy? You don't like him?"

[Sirus]

Amberly shook her head again, but with less force. When she spoke, her voice had lost some of its heat.

: "I don't think you could accomplish anything by doing that. If you want to try though, go ahead."

Alicia let out a low whistle.

: "Well... I'll be honest with you. I think he's lazy and I've got a grudge to bare against him. Cetus doesn't think he needs to help with running the rigging and setting the sail. He's liable to hide beneath deck to take a nap instead of working on the deck. And the way I see it, a four man crew on a ship as big as the the Blackbones is asking for trouble. So when we have five sets of arms and backs and one set doesn't want to do any work... That irks me."

"Oh, OK. I already offered to help out on ship so I can do his work I guess, so hey, I got it covered. Hey, tell me something. I ain't never been out to sea before. There any kinda creatures to hunt out there?"
