One glass later, the effects of the rum were already taking their toll on Alicia. Her tongue was well-oiled now and she felt like having pleasant conversation.

: "Sho uh... Barry! What got you into this whole... Pirating stuff anyways?"

Aiesha made her way back to the vessel, with medicine in tow. As she made her way up the gangplank, she called out. "Hey, anybody else back yet? Yoo-hoo?"

Blinking, Cetus looked up.

"Oh. Uhm... Hello Aiesha. I... Well, I wanted to apologize for how I was acting earlier. Regardless of anything, I lost my temper and I shouldn't have. I hope you won't hold it against me."

Aiesha stared blankly at Cetus for a short moment before smiling and giving a dismissive wave. "Oh, it's no trouble. I know you, it's no biggie. So, what have we learned about the crystal, eh? Is it dangerous? Useful? Vaaaaaaaluable?"

"Nothing. He had no clue what it was, what it might do, nothing beyond it was magical, which I could tell. He said that we might learn more if we went to where he was trained. Some place called the House of Scholars. It's apparently up in the mountains by some desert. It's just... Ugh, I wish we knew what it was. I'm just... I don't want to sell it if it's something we could use, but..."

He sighed and shook his head.

"We'll see what the captain has to say."

Aiesha's face fell. "What, seriously? Ugh, what a bummer. It sounds like this House of Scholars place is going to be far away too. It's gonna take forever to fence this thing." Aiesha sighed, and cast her gaze around. "So... Alicia and Barry not back yet?"

"I know. It's just... So frustrating. Wish the thing came with a nice description attached or something..."

Shaking his head, he rolled his eyes at the next question.

"Please. You know those two as well as I do. Probably off drinking in the first pub they could find. When I got back and no one was here, I figured best that someone keep watch, even if I'm useless in a fight. Least that way if someone tried to come on board, I could get help if we needed it or something."

"Well, can't fault me for hoping. It just irks me because by the time those two do decide to stumble back, they'll be too far gone to be any help with the ship."

"Which one do you think'll drag the other back? Pretty even odds, probably."

"Ha. Fair point. As for who drags who... Hmm, today I'll put my bet on Alicia being the one dragged. After that fight and all that gold we got? No way she's not celebrating and going all out. Baurus will just be his normal self, so I bet he'll still be standing, if not helpful, at the end."

"Yeah, especially the way she was putting away that vulnerary- OH!"

"When I went to get more medicine, I asked the apothecary if there's a problem with taking too much of this stuff, but they wouldn't give me a straight answer. We probably shouldn't give Alicia very much, if too much can be dangerous."

"Hmm, never heard of it being dangerous per say, but that's still something that we should keep an eye on. Thank you for thinking of that. I'll try to make sure that I heal her before she needs to use them. Not that she was giving me much of a chance last fight..."

He hesitated and then sighed.

"I wish I could do more, but I'm only one person, you know? It'd be nice if we could get another healer... I can only heal one person at a time and when I do, someone else is getting hurt. We'll see I guess."

"Well, the way I hear it, it's not like everybody can do it, you know? I mean, even lots of magicians can't work a staff, even with training. It's probably for the best that way though, can you imagine if there was a healer for every fighter? Battles would never end!"

"Besides, you do just fine Cetus. I haven't gotten any new scars since we started working together, so that's pretty impressive as far as I can see."

"Yeah, it's not something that's common. I guess you're right about it though... It'd be nice if there were more people to heal. Fewer people dying and all that..."

"Ah... well... I'm glad I could help. I wouldn't want you to get any more scars... I'll do my best to keep that up."

Ethan came back to the ship, escorted by several armed men wearing Alvadan uniforms and a fatty cleark in flowing robes.

"The... cargo is in the hold. Half of it is ours."

"Yes, yes, of course." The clerk walked under the deck along with the soldiers. Ethan then turned to Aiesha and Cetus.

"You back already. How's that crystal?"
