Ok, no real plan this turn, basically just move towards the two gaps in the ships edge. I was thinking once ballista get a bit closer, (depending on how close they get) Barry, Stheno, and Beryn, maybe a mage too, can head over that way to take care of them (aka send a healer with the group going to murder people) while the rest of the group can focus on the boarding party

Doublepost in order to casually remind people that Amberly's got Charisma, which oughta help folks avoid the ballista bolts a bit if they remain nearby.

...also (and this is probably stupid plan) she has Flash, which deals effective damage against archers such as those manning ballista. That might be worth considering as they get closer.

Unfortunately I don't really have any idea what approach we should take, save to say that I think trying to focus on both ends of the battle is going to get us murdered. In retrospect, it might have been smarter to bring the Blackbones about and ram the ballistae ship. Not sure why I didn't think about it before.

In any case, we should come to a mutual agreement on an approach, and then plan accordingly, I think.

Well, going by the book:

Levitation
Passive Effective
Characters with this skill can move unhindered across muddy terrain in rain, snowy terrain, and sand. However, Forests and Mountains still pose a problem, and characters with this skill can't end their turn on any terrain with Water (although that they can traverse without penalty until ending)

they should be able to.

Also, Tir, I have literally no idea what Jess is trying to say with that last paragraph. Is she suggesting that we just try and escape the two ships? Or that we just defend against the enemies and don't kill either of the bosses?

She's judging by what she heard :O and her own experiences.

What she means (...or what I mean) is that if we can thwart one plan, especially Carmen's plan (as she's like...the payer of the people), then those she's paying, despite having no allegiance to her would cause more distrust if her plan fails (ie 'rancor').
Which is me hoping more on "RP modifying the rigidity of the rules" over the wincondition despite it making sense either way.

Edit: I think we should not target Carmen. Just because she's initially more mysterious with more connection to us than the other boss, despite me feeling like either have very dense ideas behind their motive.
