I'm a night owl.
« on: November 03, 2014, 07:01:25 pm »

Before I start, English isn't my motherlanguage, so feel free to correct me.
I'm having some problems about my life, I live in the night, I wake up about 6 PM, and go to sleep about 10 in the morning, I work as a programmer so I don't have to worry about work time.
Is there any problem in this kind of life, I eat well, go run in the park about 3 AM, and I go to nocturnal cinemas, and practice judo about 8:30 AM. Thanks to all of you. Amaterasu be with you.

For the past 13 years I've been sleeping from 5am to 1pm, and I know quite a few others that do it.. The world is more empty, and more quiet, at night.. In the future the days will be so hot that everything will go on at night, so we may as well get used to it early ;)

I live in the night

Is there any problem in this kind of life

Vitamin D deficiency from lack of sunlight. With additional possible concerns relating to blood pressure, stroke and heart disease. There is some evidence that vitamin supplements do not mitigate these risks very well.  There have been studies like this one that suggest that people who receive regular exposure to sunlight live longer on average. It also appears to helps with depression by encouraging production of serotonin.

That said...it doesn't need to be a deal breaker. But if you have a family history of stroke or heart disease or if you're prone to depression it's something to be aware of. Regular, non-excessive exposure to sunlight does appear to be a healthy thing, both for your body and brain.

Vitamin D deficiency from lack of sunlight.
Well to be honest, you get Vitamin D deficiency every winter around here. Foreigners, even people with a darker ethnicity suffer because of our lack of 'sunlight'. In the Nordics, not saying he live here tho.
Just unsure of how the supplement works for the foreigners in e.g Sweden since during the winter all foreigners sleep a couple of hours more.
