I skipped today and was mostly inactive in the days before because family time in half-week-sized chunks is quite rare during the school year. We should be back to tick-and-half-ticks in a day. Sorry about the general lack of announcement about this. I'm not sick, tired, or bored of YG at all, in case that's the impression I made.

You got shafted. At one point, I asked to make as many angels as I could with about 8 Essence and I was told I could make hundreds. Hundreds. Obviously, making so many angels would mean that Conservation of Ninjustu would kick in and they'd all be cannon fodder. Your angels are cannon fodder.

Conservation of Ninjutsu does kick in, but let me put it this way;

I asked how many I could make with 6 Essence.

I could make several Million.

However, I'm fairly sure they're actually pretty good, because I think I found a way to make them cheaper without(normally) decreasing their power.

They're slightly reliant on Mortals.

But in any case, regardless of Conservation of Ninjutsu, I'm pretty sure 5000>1000, if they're made using the same template. If half of the 5000 faced the 1000, on the other hand, they might lose.

Conservation of Ninjutsu happens, yes. However. Part of the point of a lot isn't to focus them in one place; Lots of weak fighters can be defeated by a single skilled fighter anyway. The point is versatility and range.

Besides, I almost feel like I want to be the Angel specialist. SO MANY GOOD ANGELS GODDAMN IT.

I did say I want seven Archangels, after all. Each Unique and with their own Powers.

The problem with you was, the plot is what killed you. And Plot Armor is useless against Plot Death.

Millions of angels for 6 essence? Mmm okay yeah I agree that quantity has its advantages but if your individual angels are going to be that cheap, they're probably on par with mortals in which case I'd just make the latter.

I'd say it's best to spend at least around 1 essence per angel if you want them to be at least significantly above the average mortal in terms of abilities.

Do you give all your basic angels combat and and jumper traits? I consider them somewhat useless without jumper and I tend to have a lot of essence available so I always splurge on the combat trait as well.

I don't have any 'basic' angels yet.

However, it also depends on how many I make at one time.

Four dozen cost about 2 essence, and a few tens or hundreds of thousands cost four.

Right now I've got about a dozen Guardian Angels as well as Palatino. I've been spending a lot of my essence on trying to expand my follower base.

A while ago I asked about angels receiving worship instead of the god of said angel. You said that in such a case, the angel would give the god the Essence but an especially rebellious or greedy angel might keep it for themselves. How would an angel be able to use Essence and are there any risks involved in holding Essence or holding too much Essence? Is there a thing as too much Essence for an angel?

Rolepgeek: Uniques cost more than non-uniques even for the first one. The difference is greater after the first one because they exhibit almost opposite behavior.

Uniqueness does indeed grant some measure of indestructibility.

Archangel is simply a nominal thing. If someone wanted to create a trillion jelly rolls and call all of them archangels, there would be nothing stopping this either because of the creations not even being angels or the creations being so numerous that applying the title of archangel would be meaningless.

Andres: Angels with Essence capacity can indeed receive Essence from targeted worship (i.e. explicitly worship the angel, lowering worship quality for the god slightly). Overloading within reason simply dissipates the Essence uselessly. Overloading to excess causes something interesting to happen, but not in a good way.

Vgray: Enhanced is simply excellence at an intended use, somewhat like the concept of arete. Uniqueness makes replication much more difficult and grants some measure of plot protection. This will not always be noticeable with all the other unique things running around ruining each others' lives.
