He'd have 5/1 Essence, which presumably means he wouldn't go dormant until that was lost.

However...it would mean he would have a maximum of 4 Essence to spend.

No, essence capacity isn't that difficult to increase if one acts careful about spending. Yaos seems pretty good at getting certain gods to spend essence for him/her, so it's possible it could work out okay if Yaos manages to survive a couple ticks.

Not that I would bet on it at this point but it's possible.

The main problem is that, rather than just dying, she is being actively killed by various entities. With such a small amount of essence she would begin with and an even smaller maximum, her survival is, honestly, quite unlikely.

So far, they've all been unique. If you make literally hundreds of archangels and thousands of angels, for example, then you can simply define archangels as being of higher rank than angels.
