It is my (superior) understanding that the manifestations aren't beings, they are manifestations. Essentially created by the creator when the summoner summons it. Capturing one would be no different from killing it, as it was made-to-order."

If you decided to go down the the world and see how all your super-secret followers are doing, and manifested as a human to do so, that would be a manifestation. It isn't a servant, it is you, and capturing it would not be able to stop the rest of you."

"No, I don't. I think it's easier to move your creations elsewhere and repurpose them instead of letting them wither and using more Essence to create another. They don't need a separate dimension if they, say, use the underwater temple as a hideout. And for large enough things, transportation becomes easier than creation, even for long distances."

"It isn't a servant, it is you, and capturing it would not be able to stop the rest of you."

"Not completely nor immediately, no. But the Essence spent on the manifestation gets locked away from them. Banishing allows them to keep some of it as they escape. In the long game of attrition, that counts. Unless they're stupid enough not to care about their Essence total, which does make it unnecessary."

"Besides, with such inquisitiveness as you have, wouldn't you like to interrogate them to learn more of their motives?"

Yaos once again does INCEPTION on the dwarven king. This time, she's more aggressive. She makes digging deeper his driving goal in life, to put all effort into digging deeper, and to put the kingdom's resources into digging deeper, spurned on for the promise of ever greater riches. As a catalyst, she uses the memory of the Armu and their freely given wealth as a base for the idea that digging deeper is ultimately better. This idea will not naturally go away on its own.

The ink in Classification of the Things is extremely faded and some notes have been written over the text in darker, fresher ink. The actually readable notes are as follows:

As every cultist knows, some Things are more friendly than others, and some dislike even talking to lowly mortals. This book will help you find out which Thing is the best to contact.

First, you must always avoid the elemental Things. They really are not to be trusted. Their moods change faster than the tides, and they care little for their followers. Avoid any Thing of Fire, Water, Air, or Earth.

Second, you must always avoid the Lurkers and Watchers and Things aligned with Apathy. They also care little about your local cult and will not so much as raise a throfoaihn in your defense when you are inevitably caught by the authorities.

Third, you must always avoid the Jelly Roll and Bundle Things. They are so incredibly untrustworthy and will, unlike the others, break Void laws to make deals. The others can and will find out eventually and punish you instead!

Fourth, you must always avoid Things aligned to Ephemerality. Their penchant for starting willing suicide cults, while amusing, is detrimental to the continued existence of your cult. Exposing rival cults to them, however, is both amusing and useful.

Fifth, you must always avoid Things of Honor. They seem to have a tendency toward being more untrustworthy than Things of Dishonor. No one knows why this is, but our Altros speculates that this is because honor to a Void Thing is vastly different than honor to us Clac.

Anyway, I think I will try introducing the Armu to a new race each tick. On both worlds, I have a Dwarf-friend introduce the Armu to the Mountwyrms, opening up more trading relations.
