That counter insurgency plane reminds me that I'd want some super elite infantry trained in both conventional and insurgency style warfare.  Eventually.  Eventually.

We have the money for plenty. Though if we're using propeller craft anyway, may as well stick cannons onto them instead :P

There's every reason to put cannons on a ground attack aircraft, but why because we're using propeller craft..?

It's better to have lighter main guns that still can kill infantry and light vehicles - the saved weight we can use in bombs or other ordnance.
We always can design gun pods with cannons that can be attached to hardpoints ;-)

To start with it can stay in the air at a lower ground speed than jets.
Turboprops are generally better in low intensity situations which reaction speed, ease of maintenance, long airbourne time and multirole are important.

No I mean: even if it was a jet, if it's CAS you want cannons no matter what kind of engines it has. :P But yeah (turbo)propeller engines are more efficient than (turbo)jet engines at subsonic speeds.

If we want an Anti-Insurgency fighting force then it should be in my opinion as mobile as possible. The Pistol we talked about is PERFECT for them, especially considering the traits it has (although cheapness isn't one or bad quality isn't one.). It has durability, good aim, and in a Close quarters position a good punch. To better equip that force it'll probably need better non-inflicting wound armor that's also lightweight but also a good primary weapon. To top it off they should have some kind of concusion generating weapon like flash bangs.

I'm not going to post the actual propositions because i don't know what # were on and i generally find that hard to do. Still following though :)

I don't think the majority of conflicts are going to be against insurgents though, I'm pretty sure we're going to get invaded conventionally :P

Are we about done with proposals, or is somebody gonna add something else?

So, our troop transports seem okay, but do we want a mechanized force?  100 BTRs and 200 BMPs.  7 troops in each.  7*300=2100.  We have 100k, and can transport 2.1k people.  Problem?  Maybe for next turn?

We might want to expand on that to atleast get a full division equipped as such. But at the moment, just making the troops mobile is enough.

I posted about that earlier. Men can also ride unprotected on the top outside of combat. I'm not sure if it's assumed that we have generic covered trucks for moving everyone else or if they all just have to march. Transport copters could be nice for ferrying troops.
