Chryssa charges again, this time the girl brings the staff in a wide arc in front of her, spewing a wall of flame that Chryssa can't stop fast enough to avoid.  She passes through, her clothes burning and her hair singed, the girl is smirking clearly enjoying the act of confounding Chryssa's attempts to reach her

Lloyd is directed to the gym where Chryssa is currently fighting and where his team is currently seated in the stands, being carefully watched by various professors.

Lloyd sits next to his teammates but rather than watch the fight he seems to be distracted by something.

Chryssa separates Jaiko into its two individual blades, and throws one as the girl, while firing the other behind herself to slam into her.

Chryssa's first sword catches the girl hilt first staggering her, and her charge brings her, finally, within range to strike, what she doesn't have is her attention on the girl's staff.  Chryssa's momentum is crushed and she is thrown back.

For once the girl leads the attack, her pole bends lightly as she uses it to throw herself into a flying kick.  Chryssa accepts the kick rolling with it, allowing herself to fall to put out the flames and landing on her feet.  The girl seems to be preparing to finish this fight, she puts her hand on her staff a small yellow glint is visible.  "Ready to give up?"

Chryssa sends the girl flying from the force of the kick and the rolling right back into her. She accompanies this by shooting off a couple shots that follows shortly after her.

The shots reach the girl as she is recovering from the kick, and she is thrown backwards, but she continues to smile, "Sorry, but its over."  She points her staff up, a brilliant blaze of light at this point, and slams it faster than Chryssa can see.  A wave of lightning courses through the ground covering the entire arena, those in the stands can feel the residual static. Chryssa can't help but scream as every nerve in her body refuses to move as she tells it to.

"Alright that's the match you two." Professor Mesh, the instructor in charge, calls out, "Mrs. Reynolds, I'm sorry, today has not been your day, I'm afraid that you don't pass." She turns towards the girl "Mrs. Scathatch, I look forward to seeing you in Combat training 105." 

The girl grins widely and thanks the instructor as the pillar falls.  "Thanks for that," she says to Chryssa, "And... I'm sorry you didn't make it.  If you ever need anything though, I'll be happy to help."

Chryssa turns the cold shoulder, and walks off to the girls restroom.

The room applauds the battle as Chryssa leaves.  It seems the students are enjoying a legitimate fight.

Unfortunately for Slate and the Ponzini heiress, the teachers are looking to finish up here and take the students to the auditorium for a end of test day assembly

Aurum is tapping his pen on the desk repeatedly.

"Hey, uh big man, you there?" the Ponzini girl says to Slate as he gazes coolly at her.  The teachers call time and begin to shuffle all of the students to the auditorium. "What, but, but, my fight?"

"I'm sorry Ms. Ponzini, with the stressful events of today and it getting late I'm afraid that we must quickly conclude the day.  I'm afraid that it will knock you back to match your sister." the Ponzini looks like she is about to spit, but maintains her composure and walks away silent.

Chryssa makes it to the girls room.  It serves as a locker room as well.  The assembly will likely happen soon, but something in the room feels off.

The remaining teams are to be moved to the auditorium for the end of the day briefing.  Lloyd, Indigo, Maeve and Emeril can clearly see Raven with one of the Ponzinis hanging off of his arm.  He offers Emeril a grin that makes her think of a predator looking at prey.  Braith is behind them, looking disinterested as always, headphones on.

Slate returns to his team, Amber, Aurum and Justine are being pushed through the crowd, however, they all see Professor Fae beckoning to them.

Cordo, Chartre, and Ceil are left largely alone, it seems that no one wants to talk to the group who have the bad luck to have lost a teammate the first day to injury.  They can go see to their new teammate, well Ceil can, the others can wait outside or they can do pretty much whatever they want, even the teachers seem to be giving them a wide berth.

"Get yourself together Chryssa... You were just unluc- Is someone there?"
She addresses the odd feeling in the room.
