There is an education issue, and it gets pretty terrible sometimes. My roommate's creationist high school biology teacher always structured the year so evolution was the last topic they covered, and it always got cut because the other topics conveniently took longer than expected.

Having read the last few pages it has become apparent to me that the main reasons Christians reject evolution is that they are taught basically a bunch of horse excrement that bears little or no relevance to what evolutionary theory actually claims - presumably that someone has an interest in misrepresenting for some reason. Evolution is not a "belief". You agree with it as a theory that explains a whole bunch of observational evidence, or you reject it. There is no "faith" as far as observational evidence is concerned The trouble with rejecting it is that you then need to offer up a better theory to explain observations if you want your rejection to be taken seriously - and as yet, there is no better theory. Doing so for a faith based belief will attract challenges, for fairly obvious reasons. Rejecting it on a "feeling" is intellectually dishonest. Rejecting the evidence itself is totally intellectually dishonest - observation has no subjectivity, no agenda, no preclusion - it just IS.

It can't be CALLED a theory  without a massive amount of evidence. Theory MEANS "explanation of existing evidence." It isn't a synonym for "guess".

Actually I don't think there is a single 'theory of gravity'. There's the theory of general relativity which explains gravity, and maybe some others I don't know.

Anyway, this is getting off topic now. It's pretty clear Cryxis isn't interested in changing his worldview because of some people bugging him on the internet.

It's essentially the same story, except told from a different perspective and with a rather important bit of context left in which was omitted from Jesus' tale and which changes the whole tone.

1- yes it will be "Christian and Judaism beliefs and discussion"

2- it will be just like it is now, Jewish bay12ers will be open to discuss their beliefs and people will be open to question them

Also the rules of no insults, stay within forum guidelines, and no bashing on people will still apply
Though I may add no badgering and no 'everybody gang up and question the living spirit out of the guy' rules as well

Oh hey, I have interesting Judaism stories. I used to live next door to an Orthodox Rabbi. One friday after dark, I heard a faint rapping on my door. I answer it and it's the neighbours wife. They had left their stove on and haden't turned it off before dark, so they had me come over and turn it off for them.
Another time, they had forgotten to wedge a piece of cardboard in the fridge light switch, so they couldn't open the fridge. They had me open it and wedge the thing off. I found it interesting that opening the fridge was just fine, but if it also turned on a light that was not fine.
