"Well I don't want to just leave these guys here waiting for that attention to show up. What do you suggest?"
"These marines won't be targeted. Look, there's no time to explain. The longer we stay here, the greater chance they'll come here. I suggest you leave the way you came."

Arcvasti presses the button and drops the core into the hole.

There was a low, electronic laugher. "I should let you know that I'm hooked up to some rather interesting hardware. So, you want to know the truth? Well, lesson 1:"

The room... exploded. That was the only way to describe it. The slabs making up the walls flew away, revealing a blue void beyond. The floor came apart and drifted downwards, and suddenly everything felt weightless. The slabs tumbled outward and the people found themselves floating helplessly in the same direction. Only the doors of the chamber, connected to some great silhouette that was presumably the outline of the rest of the truth area, and GlaDOS herself remained stationary. After a few seconds, the slabs stopped drifting outwards and just tumbled in place, and when people drifted near one, they found themselves gravitating towards it.

"This is what the rooms exist in. It wasn't meant to support the existence of anything else, so I would say you have about 5 minutes to ask your questions and turn the structural integrity back on before you die from exposure. Starting now."

**How do we get out of this area without going back the way we came? What wounded Future!Hugo? Does time splinter or is it fixed? Where could we find an item to tip the balance of power in this place in our favour? What year is it? Did you people kidnap Ellen McClain? If so, can I have an autograph?**

(Ninjas!)

((Was it just the GlaDOS room that exploded or was the hallway effected too?))
(Just that one. You still have your gravity.)

(Also, is that void raw magic/ability energy/general energy/etc.?)
(I'm not sure, but nothing can survive in it for long. It's not quite as lethal as being in a vacuum without protection, though.)

"Let me start with this: I know far more than you, but I don't know everything. Time travel of any real distance is supposed to be impossible. I don't know how your friends managed it but they probably brought that on themselves. Ellen McClain isn't in here yet. You'll just have to make due with my voice."

"Do you actively want to murder us or are you past that now?"
HugoLuman collided with one of the concrete slabs, and found gravity was suddenly pulling him so he could stand on its widest surface. "Yeah, how do we turn the structural integrity back on?"

"I'm afraid that core had some ancillary responsibilities. I can't turn it back on. You'd have to come over here and unplug something."

"How the hell are we supposed to do that if we can only stand on these slabs?"

(18) A couple capsules fired out of the machinery, popping open to reveal a couple of white devices tipped with black metal claws. One had blue lights, the other orange. They each drifted towards someone in the group. "Figure something out."

I'm so glad we decided to protect Future!Hugo instead of staying in there.

Kevak ties a rope to the door handle and tosses the other end to someone floating around. GladOS, question, in theory, could they hop into this stable area every couple minutes to reset the death countdown?

**That gives me an idea, once we get out of this room...**

Arcvasti[19] ninja grabs one of the portal devices.

**Hell yeah. Also, no one look into the operational end of the device. Do these work outside of this room?**

"In the games, moon rock gel was used for portal surfaces, so I'd assume those would only be in this room."
