My personal favorite was seeing the troll behind its door in the dwarf family photo.

Oh! I didn't notice that. Nice touch.

The number of undead slowly grows with each goblin invasion. How many of each wave of goblinite rise up as new zombies, roughly?

It's maybe 50% or so, it's quite variable. Since the AI will always target a unit's head when they are knocked down there's a lot of head-pulping that goes on. I think a lot of the zombies come about when someone is unconscious and bleeding out, but the undead has someone else to attack so they prioritize that over smashing in heads.

A good example of this was a goblin in part 9 (I think). He spent many weeks (and screenshots) being pecked by zombie ravens. Since they weren't strong enough to penetrate his helmet he suffered no damage while knocked down. As a result he became a zombie because every time he stood up he'd take body damage and that would result in him taking more flesh wounds. Eventually it was enough body trauma for him to bleed out.

Woowh Update! The pecking on that helmet made me laugh out loud a couple times.

Nooooo! Dobar! Was the anvil picked up by one of the newer migrants though?

Nope, Tuftedstockades is still without an anvil. Dobor got the anvil underground into the tunnels and there it lays. The migrants were too scattered and surrounded to  try and go for the anvil.

Could you please show more combat reports, of migrants being killed, etc.? They are one of my favorite parts of Dwarf Fortress. Also, would you mind showing us the kills lists of some of the more deadly zombies?

And, if I haven't asked enough, it would be awesome to have a download link.  :D

I don't think you can see a creature's kills without popping into legends mode, somethings that's probably not going to happen until the story is complete. I can only check some kill lists if the creature is using a weapon (even a shoe or glove).

*Shrugs* OK. Still, a download link and more combat reports would be cool.  :D

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

A lot more migrants are getting through now. Seems soon you'll be able to begin retaking the surface.
