Yeah, I made the stations and then was hooking stuff up to them. This was shortly after they were made.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Megastation one was for coal, iron ore, and wood, and trains would pick up goods and steel and ship the goods to a station way down south to sell, and take the steel to mega 2, where grain and livestock get dropped off to make more goods, which also get dropped off.

No, but if you want to handle loads of trains coming in at once, it helps.

I have never had need to make more than 4 platforms.
Now I feel very inadequate.

Bigger platforms cover bigger areas for access, so there's that.

Have you ever had any long-term success with buses? I find they tend to become impossible to make a profit off a bit before monorails are developed.

buses are best used in conjunction with other transport modes.  I find heliports, short and long range rails and airports of varying sizes are the best bet, diversify, the game is unbalanced towards airports however.  However if u find an large but inactive player in the reddit world drop a few buses in and around where they have active passanger make sure youre making a profit but throw in competition on inactives, theyll soon go out of of business

I have. I tend to use buses a lot. Very good for making a profit (not as much as planes and such, though), and very good at making towns grow.
How do you make them not become massively unprofitable? Running costs creep up for old buses and trucks and stuff, and there's not many new ones to replace them with.
