Allrighty then. Was a tad hard getting the NCO out there (Non-commissioned officer, the sarge), the EVAer (Remember most of this is in SPAAACE, so fighting in vacuum is gonna be a thing, and EVAers are the best at it) was rather simple, really.
As for how things work, well, base beings can carry 80lb. A point in strength equals 10bs carrying capacity.
Luck and agility both help you dodge getting shot, stealth lets you sneak, agility helps you while in EVA, smarts helps you almost everywhere, endurance is capacity for pain. cred and sociability are for dealing with people.
The six of you look at eachother, each still wearing what they wore on earth. Noting a sign to the shuttles Lilly points to it. On the way they arrive at the armory, and six boxes, each with a name and rank on it.
Their names, and presumably their ranks.
Lilly was appointed as the squads NCO, Pendle and Carson where Corporals, and the rest where listed as buck privates. Each grabs their box and continues on to the docking area, where they are met by a Captain in the officers maroon and grey fatigues.
"So, you lot are my new squad? Well, we must be scraping bottom then. I am Captain Owens, and you lot are to follow my orders word for word! First order! Get your sorry asses onto that Brig and get outa your civvies and into your fatigues! Weapons check on main deck in ten!" And with that he turns and climbs down the tube into a ship, with you all following like a bunch of ducklings.

Ten later...
The six of you stand at "attention" as best you can, wearing your full gear, fatigues, suit, with your weaponry setup on your backs. Owens is nowhere to be seen, so now what?
