Thanks for the fixes. I hope that this time around you'll manage to handle all major bugs and do a real usability pass before the next large development cycle: I literally stopped playing 0.34.11 because I was too infuriated by dwarves standing on the spot of the wall they were supposed to build (which is finally fixed now, thank you very much), making pre-designing any kind of large construction impossible .

I just love the ideas in Dwarf Fortress, but now that the novelty has worn off, the little annoyances from the interface and especially the micromanagement necessary for working around the bugs and digging idiosyncracies sap my energies too much to want to play an extended game... I kind of goof around then give up.

Is there a way to kill the birds so that new creatures may come?

You can station marksdwarves near the birds and hope they manage to shoot 'em.  Or you can modify the raws (in the save file, if you've already got a world -- inside data/save/region*/raw/object), removing the [FLIER] tags from all the birds.

thanks!  will that remove the [Flier] tag from all birds of that type (Kea in this instance) or just the specific Kea in my fortress vicinity?

Animal fixes... so does this mean we can now explore fortresses and dark fortresses in adventure mode without the FPS crashing into the negative numbers?

Excellent.

Thanks so much! The invader ghost just finished scaring all my pastured creatures to death and was starting to nag my dwarfes. With the update installed, he went to eternal rest within short time.

Awesome. Really love the two-pole worlds!

Now just waiting for the morale and flier fix, and it will be excellent. (Remember all to mod natural discipline for civ races!)
