"id love one." responds Steven as he walks closer and sits down in an unoccupied chair.

"I wonder, do you think they are actually gonna show in person or do you think they'll just hit the stadium with a massive hallucinogenic effect and sneak off before anyone can try catching them?"

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

"Causing chaos would probably just make her run, but I'll give you a lift so maybe we can pull that fire escape down." Jake says, going to pick up the small child and give her a boost so maybe she can reach the fire escape.

Kyle sighs and makes sure he still has his knife on him as he runs out towards the parking lot, finally opening his eyes. Hey, if an eldritch abomination is still following him then there's a higher chance he isn't getting shot. Also, at this point he's pretty upset at the world so this is just icing on the cake of his bad morning.

You open your eyes and look at the white sky in front of you ponderously, and a black moon stares back at you. Alarmed, you begin to run toward the parking lot, which you realize is downstairs. You don't quite see what you're running into, but the screaming grows louder and more intense as you turn the corner and run right onto the scene along the black ground, and turn your gaze, holding your knife out.

Before you is something.

Before you was something.

You feel an intense migraine come on just as your vision comes back into focus.

You don't see anything. Though there was something here, you are sure. It pokes at the edges of your perception, strange, partial, disgusting images and sounds creeping in every moment, parcels of information unconnected with each other in any other obvious way, though each one sets off a set of alarm bells. A low, quiet hum starts and stops every now and then, with a couple of high squeals interrupting it.

Selina stares down at the basement and then at Rita, really unsure of what to think. Messing with her head could end dangerously with how unhinged she felt half the time but...

"...J-just... not too long? I don't... know i-if everythings o-okay... i-i-in there..." Selina gulps again and gently taps her head.

"You're going to be fine, Selina. If you have a problem or feel uncomfortable, just call out to me, and I'll try to help, okay? And yes, we won't be long," she says, turning halfway toward the basement, looking back at you, seemingly waiting for you to make the first move.

"id love one." responds Steven as he walks closer and sits down in an unoccupied chair.

"I wonder, do you think they are actually gonna show in person or do you think they'll just hit the stadium with a massive hallucinogenic effect and sneak off before anyone can try catching them?"

"I think this is a party," the guy says, pouring you a full drinking glass of vodka and then refilling his own. "So I guess they'll be arriving and probably staying a while. I mean, if they've got their things over, why not have fun? That's what it's about as far as I can tell. Having fun."

The room starts to look a little larger now, you notice.

"Oh hey, you weren't kidding. Shit is starting to go down, looks like," the guy says, smiling nervously.

"Causing chaos would probably just make her run, but I'll give you a lift so maybe we can pull that fire escape down." Jake says, going to pick up the small child and give her a boost so maybe she can reach the fire escape.

Giving the strange girl a boost does allow you to get at the fire escape, and she shows enough elementary judgment that she can extend the ladder all the way downward with no issue. You thus climb up, then look back down. Hm. Are you going to keep it down? Might be useful to cut off that avenue of approach, just in case.

Also, that feeling of peace you noticed before is starting to become more palpable, filling your skull with a soft, fuzzy hum that muddles your thoughts, making you feel a little sleepy.

Kyle grunts and falls to the ground clutching his head. He thrashes around trying to get it to stop. Why does he have to deal with this bullshit?

Selina slowly follows Rita down, working to control her breathing and try to relax her body before she goes into another panic attack and/or something worse happens. Relaxing inside a dark basement with something potentially about to cause her brain to go nuts? Maybe not the best idea but, atleast it might help her calm down.

There are many possible reasons, really. Unfortunate positioning. Cruel fate. Accumulated bad karma for shanking a guy lethally. Maybe a part of your powers involves you being regularly and intensely screwed over by happenstance, or at least prone to occupying the worst possible reasonably accessible space at any given point of time.

In any case, your head hurts, and vigorous shaking fails to help it. Indeed, the rapid shifts in blood pressure from shifting position only serve to make it worse. Maybe you should just relax on the cold, damp ground and wait for the sun to come up. If the sun is ever going to come up, that is.

Selina slowly follows Rita down, working to control her breathing and try to relax her body before she goes into another panic attack and/or something worse happens. Relaxing inside a dark basement with something potentially about to cause her brain to go nuts? Maybe not the best idea but, atleast it might help her calm down.

You think happy thoughts and try to make the tension fade as well as you can as you head down into the basement. Damn basements with their implicitly shady overtones. Hadrian and Lynn both seem to be sitting there silently, Lynn nursing a second drink up to the point where she notices you come in, at which point she empties it in one gulp.

"We going in, then?" she asks.

"Uh, yeah. I think," Rita says, then looks at you. "You're going to come in, right? Maybe you can grab hold of my hand or something if you're feeling uneasy, so that you don't get totally lost in there."

Hadrian appears to be staring at the two of you slightly dreamily. You're not sure if he's meaning anything by it, since his eyes are slightly glazed and he's practically staring through you right now.

Kyle just lets himself flop on the ground. After all, it's not like anything much worse can happen. Really though, this day is shit and the sun isn't even up yet.

Selina sits down and holds Rita's hand tightly, giving a shaky nod to let things just... start... she had no idea how these things worked anyway.

"Hmmm, i suppose your right. These stunts wouldn't have as much impact if they didnt stick around to fuel the fire so to speak." says Steven before drinking a bit of his vodka.

"I wonder what playing sports would be like under these conditions?"

Jake pulls the fire escape ladder back up after them, to keep any nosy cops or Eddites from following them. Once he gets to the rooftop, he'll try to look around for Dissent or any of the other Project Ed leaders while trying to focus and clear that fuzzy feeling from his head.

Kyle just lets himself flop on the ground. After all, it's not like anything much worse can happen. Really though, this day is shit and the sun isn't even up yet.

The asphalt welcomes you like an old friend, steadfastly remaining normal and extremely abrasive to accommodate your desire for companionship. You cradle the ground for a bit, determined to try and squeeze out any cheap sentiment you can out of it, and you guess it sort of works. You don't quite feel loved, but at least you don't feel as universally hated as you did a few moments ago. Reassured by the parking lot in this manner, you open your eyes and look up at the sky. It's dark again, you notice. And the moon's there, too, looking like it's boring old self, halfway through its waning, or at least you think so.

You're not quite sure how long you've been laying here, but you think the sun might be rising soon. It's getting a little brighter around the edge of the horizon.

You notice a guy in a dressing gown with a cup of coffee standing nearby. It's that guy who was standing behind you in line to the check-in. He looks concerned.

"Hey! You okay there?" he asks, coming closer.

Selina sits down and holds Rita's hand tightly, giving a shaky nod to let things just... start... she had no idea how these things worked anyway.

Just as you sit down, Rita uncomfortably tugs at your hand, asking you to get up. You sigh and follow her, Lynn and Hadrian over to the room - it's a dinghy little room, black, crunchy plastic wrap on the walls, the floor and ceiling similarly dark. There's a cheap-ass star lamp casting little dots of light all over the room, and the place would put you in mind of some elementary school production (or a serial killer's ritual murder room, another part of your mind chimes in uninvited), or at least it would if it were not for a rather ominous black tripod in the middle of the room with a bright blue, slightly cracked football-sized sphere in the middle of it. What looks like a thousand-watt spotlight is aimed at it, currently turned off. Hadrian makes a dramatic revealing motion practically begging for a "ta-da" while keeping a dead-eyed look, then immediately walks off behind a nearby curtain.

"Okay, so, this is going to be a little weird," Rita says, looking at you in a friendly manner. "You wanna close your eyes. I'm going to hold on to your hand, so you'll know where I'll be throughout. Now, when you're ready and you've closed your eyes, say that you're ready, and I'll give the go-ahead."

She closes her eyes, looking a little serious and breathing deeply. Lynn does the same, but seems altogether more relaxed and probably feeling the booze a little more.

"Hmmm, i suppose your right. These stunts wouldn't have as much impact if they didnt stick around to fuel the fire so to speak." says Steven before drinking a bit of his vodka.

"I wonder what playing sports would be like under these conditions?"

"Way more confusing, that's for sure," the man says. "As well as probably way more intimidating if it was, like, football. Those already huge bastard players would be like, I dunno, Endbringer-sized, right?"

The way everything continues to appear larger tells you that this may indeed be the case. But you feel a very soft chillness descend on you as well, so you think that's okay. Things are going to be okay, right?

Alex would head down to the stadium. He wanted to survey the area for a bit.

The stadium, you notice as you draw closer tonight, as the whole bit with Jeremy had taken way longer than it really would if Jeremy wasn't a nutjob, seems to be hosting a bunch of Eddites and other interested parties tonight, plus some police. Awfully mellow police now, it seems.

You notice that you also feel oddly calm as you enter the area, and that things appear way bigger than they should for some reason.

Jake pulls the fire escape ladder back up after them, to keep any nosy cops or Eddites from following them. Once he gets to the rooftop, he'll try to look around for Dissent or any of the other Project Ed leaders while trying to focus and clear that fuzzy feeling from his head.

You can't really clear a fuzzy feeling from your head, dude. That's not how fuzzy feelings work. Besides, you're way too chill right now to go for this revenge business, even if you think you see One-Eighty strolling toward the stadium with a bunch of her good friends.

Carrie also, as always, "looks" around.

One-Eighty's on the scene with five elder Eddites. Two are girls, or is it women? Her crowd's a bit more mature than the rest, at least physically. One of the women you figure to be good match for Dissent in terms of clothing and physique, and the goofy grin she's got on her face amuses you to no end.

Selina gulps, a thousand thoughts of how this could go wrong running through her head. In the end, she slowly closed her eyes and squeezed Rita's hand tightly.

"R-ready..."
