Worms: An evolution based RTD (Illustrated!)
« on: August 01, 2014, 08:34:30 am »

Hello! Welcome to my RTD! This will be a 5 player RTD that uses a D6 to decide how your actions turn out. If you are unfamiliar with RTD's, click the spoiler below to see what each dice roll means.

Alright. Mechanics time.
You each start off as a worm, gathered together in a small underground pocket of air. You're completely surrounded by dirt for now, and you have no food. But that's okay. You gain nutrients from the dirt as a worm. However, you don't want to be a worm forever, do you? Nope! Every turn, for every player still alive, you will earn one evolution point, or DNA. However, completing certain actions and objectives will earn you more DNA: However, these won't be listed, so just do whatever you would expect what you are to do. Once you've accumulated some points, where will you spend it but the evolution shop! These evolution purchases will be decided as a team. Anyways, this will also be illustrated! Please forgive my terrible art skills.

If you want to join, simply post a name for the worm you currently are, and an action! DNA point counter will start at the first turn, and the DNA shop will be editted in to here once you can afford the first upgrade.

This is you at the moment!

And this is your evolution. At the moment, you're still a worm!

THE EVOLUTION ZONE!!!
New things will be added when you get more DNA, so check back often!

One Unjointed Leg: 5 DNA (Max of 8 of any leg type allowed)
One Jointed Leg: 15 DNA (Max of 8 of any leg type allowed)
One Mouth: 20 DNA (Max of 1 allowed)
Two Antennae: 10 DNA (Infinite allowed)
Two Wings: 35 DNA (Max of 3 pairs allowed)
One Stinger: 20 DNA (Max of 3 allowed)
Upgrade Stinger Venom: 10 DNA (Max of 5 allowed) Each purchase will raise cost by 10 DNA points
Increase size: 20 DNA, will raise by cost of 20 DNA each time bought. (Infinite purchases allowed)

Most of these will unlock additional upgrades as well, so check back after something has been purchased.

Wisest decision right now would be to move to less densely packed dirt - dig a tunnel upwards to more friendly soil.

Also, what sort of worm are we? Annelid or nematode? The others seem less likely, is all.

Alright, let's not go complicated into species names and stuff. Just suppose you're the typical american earthworm. Also, Harry, you forgot the name of your worm. It will be more relevant when your species can communicate, however.

Ah, annelids, thought so. Didn't notice the second picture. Nobody ever thinks of soil-dwelling nematodes, do they? I just get a bit enthusiastic with worms.

Also... name? Hm. Let's go with Hemi.

You're already in a small circular hole. Do you want to dig out another branch of the cavern area?

Wisest decision right now would be to move to less densely packed dirt - dig a tunnel upwards to more friendly soil.

Also, what sort of worm are we? Annelid or nematode? The others seem less likely, is all.

5: You sense that all the other worms are being stupid, and probably getting themselves killed by digging in another direction, so you dig directly up, disobeying the pull of gravity. Minutes later, you detect that the soil is getting a bit more loosely packed, so you stop to take a quick break.

Name: Hermophage

Descend
2: You are confused about which way is down, so you just follow the group of worms into the cave in, and are caught in it as well.

My Worm shall be Dark Lord Raman.

Dig out a small circular hole
6: You quickly squirm to the left, and excavate a massive chamber. It is so large that it cannot support itself, and it falls soon after completion. You, and three other worms, are caught in the cave in.

Name: Mr. ManEater

Ascend, though not above ground.
2: You dig around a bit, but accidentally dig right into the chamber Yourmaster caves in. You are caught in the cave-in.

Name: Frank

Dig to the left.

2: You try to dig that way, but you are interrupted by a large amount of dirt falling on you after the efforts of another worm.

Cave in!!!
All worms except Harry were caught in the cave in.
Frank:2
Mr. Maneater:1
Hermophage:3
Dark Lord Raman:1

Frank is trapped in loosely packed soil.
Mr. Maneater and Dark Lord Raman are trapped in the bottom of the cave in, under several layers of dirt.
Hermophage is only partially covered, and near the top.

DNA Points: 7 (5 per turn, +2 because of Hemi's efforts)

Sorry, we already have 5 worms. When one dies, which will likely be soon, you can be added back in.
