Black Bulwark: Monstrosity's Last Stand
« on: July 30, 2014, 03:04:24 pm »

The monster fortress of Darrowden lies in ruins. Once the largest monster stronghold outside of Elaris Island, it is now little more than a smoldering cavern, dotted with the corpses of monsters and the occasional flag of the Adventurer's Guild. Something like this never could have happened twenty years ago, but times have changed since then. Human craftsmen have learned how to infuse the very souls of monsters into objects, creating weapons that allow the user to perform otherwise impossible feats. Armed with these 'Masterworks', adventurers have gone from being little more than a nuisance to the leading cause of death among most species of monsters. But while the humans might be the ones known for their ingenuity, monsters are nothing if not adaptable. Back on Elaris, the homeland and last stronghold of the monsters, a doppleganger by the name of Braunkleid has used information gleaned from humans to put together an experimental fighting force. More similar to a human adventuring party than a monster pack, this group of four, known as the Black Bulwark, will either turn out to be monsterkind's saviors, or the final nail in their coffin.

I'll be taking four players, NO FCFS. If anyone has any questions about anything at all, just ask me and I'll try my best to answer them.

Name: Gog n' Og
Species: Twin headed Ogre
Gender: male
Age: 44
Appearance: A big, tall and fat. Muscular arms and legs support a big belly. Skin is a slimy green color. Oh yeah, two heads, both with different personalities. There's Og, the one who tries to think logically...and Gog, the GAHHH BOOM SMASH type of monster. Both still kinda dumb, though

Backstory: Sometimes two is better than one...because two is one plus one. Normal, singled headed ogres are a ugly and brutish bunch prone to violence and general distastefulness. Gog and Og are not normal single headed ogres though... they are double headed ogres. An extremely rare genetic anomaly amongst their brothers, both 'heads' are able switch control of the singular body on the fly. 'Volunteered' by the head chieftain, Gog n' Og just might enter Ogre legend ... or finally be done away with

Stats:
Strength: 4
Endurance: 2
Dexterity:
Power: 1
Intuition:
Charisma:
Major Trait: Two is better than one-Can occasionally submit two actions, the one chosen to be determined by chance
Minor Traits: Strong melee user. Skilled hunter
Flaws: Stupid- Occasionally overrides action with a nonsensical one
Really poor social skills

Name: Vindala
Species: Rakashasa
Gender:Male
Age: 30
Appearance: Stands at around 6'9. Posses a humanoid torso with the head of a tiger with a third demonic eye on its forehead. He has 2 pairs of arms. The first pair is covered with scales and ends with a pair of razor-sharp claws. The second pair resemble a pair of tiger paws with claws that don't retract.

Backstory: The Rakasha' are born resembling humans and gain seemingly random and monstrous traits as they age. They typically stop growing around their 20's. Vindala's mutations were seemingly discreet at first. He enjoyed the taste of rotting fruits just as much as fresh ones. Sweet smelling spittle. He took advantage of this and lived in a human city. There he could have feasted upon human flesh to his heart's content, and they would be none the wiser. That is until Vindala woke up with a tiger's head. He fled the city and took up arms, in both senses of the word.

Stats:
Strength 2
Endurance:1
Dexterity:4
Power: 0
Intuition:0
Charisma:0
Major Trait: Multi-Armed- Posses two sets of monstrous arms
Minor Trait: Demon-At-Arms- Can hold and use a weapon in all 4 arms
Flaws: All Out attacker- Receives a penalty to defensive rolls any time he makes an attack

Nidilap likes Adamantine, Bituminous Coal, Garnets, Cats for their aloofness, Dwarves for their stupidity, and Swords for their Spikes and edges. When possible, he prefers to eat pizza, ramen noodles, and sushi. He absolutely detests elves and spiders. He needs MTN DEW to get through the working day.

A medium- sized creature prone to great ambition, but only when he feels like it.

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

Edited my sheet, is it alright?
Not quite sure what effects/penalties my traits and flaws would actually have. Hope they work anyway.

Name: Adam
Species: Flesh Golem(Frankenstein)
Gender: Looks male, can change
Age: 200
Appearance: Looks mismatched and decaying, appearance changes subtly over time through self repair
Backstory: One of the well known but virtually unseen Frankenstein, it shows humanity's inner self openly, so it was driven away and outcasted. Its only friend, it thinks, is a little child, whose parents drove it away from due to its appearance
Stats:
Strength: 2
Endurance: 2
Dexterity: 1
Power: 0
Intuition: 2
Charisma: 0
Major Trait: Self repair- Can fix self damage by sewing other body parts to itself
Minor Traits: Feels no pain. Knows the human anatomy well.
Flaws: No friends- It has been outcasted and chased for so long, it has a hard time trusting others. Decay- The body becomes weaker over time, and must occasionally Self repair to keep from wearing out. (Effects up to GM)

Yeah, I'll stat out everyone's traits after I select the four players, which will probably be sometime later today. Also, you appear to have one more flaw than you need to.

Oh, right. Somehow I got it in my head that I needed a flaw for each trait, not just the minor ones. I'll fix it in a bit.

Mouse over traits to get descriptions of what I was thinking of. Also, would the 'beneath the mask' one use charisma? Because if so, I'll need to shuffle some stats around.
