Tyward - DEAD.
« on: July 24, 2014, 02:12:04 am »

Posting may commence.

Edit: Game starts on page five, using the fifteen posts per page layout.
Note: This is mostly testing the waters and building a system for a different game I was/am planning. As such, a lot of balancing and tweaking needs to be done - it's also a way to work on GMing before I go into that game.

Four months. Four months since the planet started literally falling apart, entire countries crumbling and tumbling down into the void below your world as though the fabric of reality was torn asunder - which, as far as your ragtag group of misfit survivors could tell, it was. The five of you were lucky enough to see these things from a distance - holes opening in midair and spewing flames across the countryside, killing everything except the plants; entire mountains lifting out of the ground and relocating themselves, as if unsatisfied with being in one place for too long; islands falling from the sky, when there should have been none. Fortunately, word soon arrived in the form of unsuspecting merchants and travelers from the north that these events did not seem to be happening there - that it was safe in their homeland. After having decided to take this matter to Imayne Ascelyn, Queen of Jaacor, to find out if her mages could do anything, your party is finally arriving in the small village of Marren's Eve - named after some local heroine, from what you've gathered. With your supplies low, and bodies weary from months of traveling on foot, there's only one thing left to figure out before stepping into this peaceful place.

Who the Hell are you?

What's this? Abandoning your crappy old RtD for a crappy new one, Lyeos?

Yes. Yes indeed - I really, really hated the direction my old one took especially after losing my notes. While I don't expect this one to be much better, it's allowing me to start over from scratch and not have to deal with retconning out a lot of junk I made the mistake of putting in the old one - heck, I couldn't even keep up with what was going on in the last one. While that probably doesn't bode well for this one, I'll be trying to make actual maps for this and putting them into posts, as well as a currency system. Of course, college junk got in the way of much of the last one, but it should be sorted soon enough and then I'll be bored enough to not focus on class and work on this!

Well, what's different about this one?

Stats.
These don't have much use yet, or at all, but distribute points between the four.
They will be used later for different things as I get it sorted out, and maybe for different events, but for now they're just minor things.

A brief rundown of what they're going to be used for:
Constitution: This will determine both your health upon leveling up and at the start as well as how good you are at resisting poisons and diseases.

Intelligence: Determines how many and what spells you can learn and cast, each spell has a limit per day, until an event later on which will grant certain people mana.

Strength: Determines what weapons you will be able to equip as well as what armor, note that many spells can bypass armor, and some actually become stronger against certain types. However, weapons do not degrade, so while the mages will run out of spells to cast, you will still have your weapons.

Charisma: Mostly a fluff stat, but it will also help determine some NPC interactions and help gain discounts in shops. In all seriousness, with an insanely high charisma score, one might be able to convince a troll to stop fighting, or a king to stop a war by insulting his mother's honor. Note, though, that the score required to do so would likely be beyond anyone's reach, if they cared at all about combat.

Well, this is still crappy, but hypothetically how would I get in?

Fill out the character sheet. Everybody from my last one has an automatic spot as long as they post a sheet in the next week, but a waitlist will be available. Also, please note that any insanely long or parenthesized things in the character sheet should be shortened, or in the latter's case removed.

So, here it is:

((Oops, yes, that was supposed to be Int. The original stat I had was Willpower, but I swapped it for Int and changed the usage a bit. S'fixed now.))
