Vampire Self-Evaluating his own containment

Is this new? He admires his own fine-trap lately, and pretty sure I have no traps, except for the lever that got him grounded!

I can't quote for squat, but this is very true. Credit to PTTG?? for this insightful comment.
~Haven & Hearth has always been a terrible game with great promise. That promise kind of faded away, and now it's mainly a way for a few dedicated scumbags to annoy the few new people who drift in.~

Levers count as traps, and she considers it to be hers because it's presumably within a room that she owns- she thinks it's tasteful furniture.

I find it particularly entertaining when prisoners admire the chain they are chained up with. Particularly so if you buy one of those 1000+ dorfbuck ropes from the caravans. It makes a dorf pretty darn happy to be chained up on such a nice rope.

Aye. I had a jail near the volcano with nice gold chains. Nice place :).

"That's a wonderful active volcano, Urist. Are you sure there won't be any nasty creatures to come murder us when we're locked up here? Why is everyone gathering behind those glass walls?"

"What? No, course not. Uhh, it's a meeting. Yea... Sure. Um. See you later."

OMG your right, what if my jail could be both flooded and drained of magma...

Prison is one of the safest places to keep a dwarf that's prone to tantruming.
My jails consitently look like this:

Code: [Select]
WWWWW  W-wall
W.1tD  . - floor, or more happy making furniture if you want
WBCcD t - nice table
W22.W  c - nice chair
WWWWW  C - bling bling chain, set as prison cell room
B - nice bed, prevents sleeping on floor unhappy thought
1  - prepared food stockpile, no barrels
       2 - booze stockpile
       D - doors
I haven't tried designating the bed as a bedroom, as well as the table as a dining room, overlapping the jail room. This might even give the dwarf more happy thoughts in there.

It is a viable tactic, to keep some crimes handy to accuse dwarves of, so you can sentece unhappy dwarves to prison before they become more unhappy. They'll be happy enough in there during their prison time, and when they're freed, they'll get a pretty decent 'is happy to be free' thought too.
Prison > TLC

EDIT: N.B.! Unless this has changed with newer versions, the exact positioning is important. AFAIK the dwarf on a chain can only actively use objects that are straight north, south, west or east of the chain, but not the ones diagonally. This means the chair and table can't be swapped, or the dwarf can't sit. The dwarf will still put food on the table as he sits on the chair though when he sits on the chair. It also means you cannot shift the booze stockpile a tile to the right, because then the stockpile's default empty barrel will be on the south spot, instead of the full booze barrel.

doesn't masterwork engravings also give happy thoughts?  if so make sure to smooth and engrave those walls (perhaps floors too).
