Downwards.
Downwards.
For some ungodly reason, you think that the Festering Pit of Sin sounds like the best place to explore right now, at least when compared with the Unholy Chambers of Satiation. So you head down the Conduit of the Skies until a green gate leading down is found - the two of you plummet through it, and land on all three of your legs in an interesting location - a metallic catwalk without railings, suspended in the air by nothing at all in the middle of an endless dark sky all around except for right below - right below there is a massive, boiling sea of pure black, bubbling softly and emitting a powerful, intensely pleasing aroma. There are staircases leading down to the sea, and the catwalk seems to be organized in three levels, each with a creature atop it.
On this floor you can see a massive snakelike creature made of metal, its head much larger than the rest of its body and oddly circular, with hundreds of mouths lining its surface, but no eyes or nostrils. It exhales, and from each mouth comes a thin stream of fire. It does not appear to be aware of the two of you... yet.
Below this floor, right in the middle of the catwalks, a small slug of metal seems to be sliding about, leaving a bubbly, transparent wet trail of some sort.
And on the floor right next to the sea, the lowermost one, there is but a bouncing, smiling sphere of yellow, bouncing up from the surface of the catwalk below it and the bottom of the catwalks above it - it seems to be minding its own business as well.
At the very bottom there is only the sea, and a particular staircase seems to allow one to descend rather close to its surface.
"HEAR THE WORDS OF RADIX THE OMNISCIENT!" goes the familiar voice, and the creatures immediately stir to listen to it.
"YOU FIND YOURSELF IN THE FESTERING PITS OF SIN! MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE ENDLESS SEA AND DRINK ONCE - BUT ONLY ONCE - OF THE SINS WITHIN, AND OBTAIN INCREDIBLE POWERS YOU HAVE NEVER KNOWN BEFORE, HANDILY THEMED AFTER SIMPLE CONCEPTS TO FACILITATE UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR POTENTIAL!"Watch more
To your displeasure, the shows get no more engaging or immersive as you continue to watch, and the picture refuses to fully encompass your mind, though it does creep up to you a little slowly.
Relax for a bit, then go check out the mound of competition.
You relax most adequately, finding the armchair to be the best you've sat in for ages, perhaps your entire life. But you do believe you have a timetable to stick to here, and so you move over to investigate the Mound of Competition, placing your knees in the knee-sized depressions in the ground intuitively. But it seems that one man cannot have a competition all on his own - a second is needed at the very least, for the Mound of Competition refuses to work.
Leave Stargazer to her abomination, I'll not be a slave to the Abyss
You flee the Forbidden Hermitage, heading outside of the shack, where you believe yourself to be safe, only to notice a giant horned humanoid figure made of what looks like solid shadow standing at the bottom of the ziggurat's steps. You wonder what it wants. Presumably nothing good.
