So Wales wanna set up a trade? I got way too much wood now
I think everyone does. But when we all start mass producing spearmen and bowmen we'll need it.

Na, that won't be nearly enough to negate (and drain what will be 100 wood surpluses in a few turns) the crazy wood everyone is getting. If people start building huge navies, then they will need the wood, but I doubt anyone but Ireland will bother really building a navy because: A) There are no islands with any real resources (eg. manas, iron, mithril, pegasi) B) Everyone already has a ton of land, and there is no reason to go to Ireland to get more for a very long time (which is the only place with spare land).

Well, unless you have to kill Ireland as part of your Wincon.

Or you just want to be able to transport troops really fast to coastal places for sieges and the like.

Oh yeah, some people do have that as their wincons.
So I suppose they will be building navies after all.

I see no gain for me from performing such an action.  However, if you were willing to grant 10 food to me per hill, then I would do so.
