Speaking of cats, apparently when my mother gave her dog a much-needed summer haircut yesterday, the cat who lives on the verandah with said dog was so appalled, confused and/or disgusted by her new look that he carried on hissing and wailing at the sight of her, before eventually high-tailing it out of there and avoiding the place for a whole day.

He only came back this afternoon, and according to my mother just hopped down onto the verandah and went up to give the dog (they're pretty tight usually) a nuzzle, same as he usually would. Who knows just what goes on in the minds of cats and dogs, but I like to imagine it was a somewhat apologetic nuzzle, saying sorry for overreacting so badly about her new hairdo and perhaps shaking her self-esteem. :P
...Or maybe he'd just had time to figure out that this weird-looking critter was, in fact, the same dog he's pals with.

Also today i got my very first random hate comment on DeviantArt, which is an important milestone for every budding art fart. Alas, mine is of low quality. I've been tempted to poke the poor creature, but i'm not quite ready for the responsibility of having a pet hissing cockroach. :v
