Not to spoil people's fun about the Tay thing, but the white race tweets were done by hijackers who broke into the account to shitpost on it.  Still! The chances are if a sapient AI is created by a corporation they'll shut it down without regret if it fails to show a talent at profit margins.

I thought 4chan hijacked it with hundreds of discussions?

In a statement by the head of the Microsoft research group, he called it a "coordinated attack" on a "vulnerability". Not clear if it was actual hacking or just the sheer amount of shitposting that turned the AI.

I'm pretty sure it was the latter just based off the sheer amount of posts Tay made.

"Phuket" isn't pronounced the way they think it is.

Poo-ket, right? I can't be arsed following the link.

I suppose they'd be happy to know there's a town in NZ called Pukehole. Also Bollocks Street in... Auckland, IIRC.

You want to be in a 3rd year geography class when they're studying the River Cocker, and Cockermouth.

Bah, there's a town in Brazil, towards the centre of the country, called Puta Que Pariu, a really strong swear word that would translate to "whore that gave birth". Your phallic streets pale in comparison.

There's "Fucking" in Austria, though that isn't the native tongue, so...

Just out of curiousity, do you know why the town is called "whore that gave birth"?

I don't know.  But apparently there's a bus that goes there.
