Probably not much of an improvement, actually. Cat being cat, it's probably taking a dump in the corpses of the mangled birds you don't see.

At least it's your cat doing it. My neighbor's killed a bird on my porch today and apparently the bird shat itself in fear because the mangled corpse was lying in a decent-sized puddle of its own waste.
That's really disgusting...

It's a programming joke. C++, Python, and especially Java, are object-oriented programming languages (which basically just means the code is structured differently) while C is not.

It's probably less a fear reaction, and more a being-dead reaction. You need muscle tension to hold it in... do the math.

We are doomed. It's just that whatever is going to kill us all just happens to be, from a scientific standpoint, pretty frickin' awesome.

And yet, do birds ever hold it in, intentionally or otherwise?

... probably? Pretty sure you can potty train the smarter birds, anyway.

E: And now I'm wondering if you could train a pet crow to crap on your neighbor's car. Damnit, brain.

That's what I was originally thinking, but... I've seen goodness knows how many birds get taken down by cats and peregrines, and this is the first time I've ever seen one void its bowels. Usually the mess is just the scattered uneaten bits (if cat) or a big explosion of feathers (if peregrine). 'Course it's only happened once among the people I've seen die as well, so maybe it's not something that happens all the time; I can't say I've ever spent time studying the phenomenon.
