Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'd remove any opposition to me being ruler of earth
So basically the same as Mr. Sherman, then?

Dang it, I already sent it off without any of our names on it.  :(

Well, I linked him here, so he'll probably at least see the thread.
Wait you actually did this?

Yeah, except I'd like to rule over living people.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah, except I'd like to rule over living people.
Something of a catch-22 then: in order to be the ruler of Earth you'd have to get rid of all the people who opposed you, which would mean there are no more living people to rule over.

Hey, it's a strong impetus to work on space travel and living.
Yeah, and we could burn all that immortal organic material as an infinite source of energy to power our spaceships.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Well the Earth will be seriously de-populated afterward anyway. I find it hard to believe you personally know more than 1,000 people, never mind they'd be happy to have you in charge of them :P

This perhaps tainted by my own position regarding authority. There are very few people that I'd willingly allow to tell me what to do and remain happy with the situation.

I promise I'd be a good dictator

Dictators never win. They either don't keep political stability or they endorse 'hoomin rites violin nations'.

The trick is to call yourself Emperor or Lord Protector or Chairman rather than President and pretending there are elections

Grand Emperor and Lord Chairman for the Protection of Humanity's Chairs doesn't have that kind of ring to it.

Oh hey, we just developed a form of interstellar travel even more grimdark than 40K Warp travel. Instead of tunneling through hell, we fuel our rockets with giant ovens filled with whole ecosystems of perpetually burning life. Hopefully it's just plants, but probably we'd end up with people. And what happens if you fall into one?

"Well, sorry Dave, but we can't shut down the power plant during the deceleration burn, you'll have to hang out in there for a few decades. Don't worry, you won't have any burn scars once you're out, so it's all good."

Instead of HFY it's more like Humanity Fuck Why.

Humanity FML

I don't even *like* grimdark and I still came up with that.
