Ayleth sits next to a tree. "Having a go at magic, Ness?" She says.

"Yeah! Whattya doing, Nest?" Relic says, sitting a tree branch above them-popping into the conversation in annoying little-sister fashion.

"Her name is Ness. Not Nest." Sacha grumbled as she looked over the creature on the ground. It looked like it'd been dead for a while but... That's not possible is it?

"Hey Darwyn; Can something live after death?"

Beolas lazily snorted from where he lay, "If you're worried, Sacha, it's nae trouble for me to stab it a wee bit more."

"I'm not worried about it. We killed... Rekilled it before and can do so again. But look at it Bealas. It was dead when we fought it. It was dead but... not dead? I've never heard of that. Fascinating."

"Hey Darwyn; Can something live after death?"
"Well, I suppose that depends on what you consider living. If you mean getting up, walking around, maybe attacking parties of explorers, then I would say that yes, it is possible. That creature we dispatched seems to prove it. If, on the other hand, you're asking if it possible to continue being yourself after death...well, I'm afraid I have no idea. This is the first dead thing I've ever seen moving around on its own, so I don't have much experience in such matters."

"I think I want to go back to that atrocious city after this. They might have some sort of collection of tomes that I could look into that. We should really look into training a few of these things regardless. Imagine it. We could adventure all we want and never have to risk anyone important."

"Surely you had an old storyteller or drunken sailors who spun wild tales about necromancers, vampires and zombies. I grew up in a small, obscure village in the middle of nowhere and even I heard of them."

"I think Sacha just figured every story I told was fake..." Ness says absently.

"She can do magic though, so I'm not sure why...Darwyn, do you think maybe I'm one of those knights in the legends? My sword was all glowy and made th' dead thing frightened or something."

As you have all expressed interest in, you move on to the ruins as before.

The ruins are rather... unsettling, to say the least. There are crumbled stone walls, caked with moss and cracked dangerously, but strangely, their ruins don't seem to outline a significant number of buildings. The architecture seems impossibly warped in some places.

Ayleth laughs. "What's so scary? It's just a few crumbling buildings."
