"What does being a ninja mean? Does being a ninja mean using your skills for the good of the people? Does it mean rescuing the children of your Daimyo from bandits and highwaymen or training yourself and serving as a tool of your village, spending hours sharpening your skills on the skulls of your enemies? As far as I know, being a ninja means depriving yourself of all your dignity by shopping for people and doing their chores for the lazy civilian bastards, putting your own life on the life in order to catch a demon cat, or even having to pick up your sensei's dinner from Yakiniku Q and having to haul it up Hokage Mountain while beating up other genin that are on their genin tests. Yes, the glories of being a ninja in service to your Village are... nonexistent. My advice? Suffer your new life with friends, teammates, and rivals. Without them, you might as well just kill your own clan for the sake of your Village and become a nuke-nin. Maybe then you'll find a friend that will accept you for who you are. They might even be wearing the same clothes that you are."
~A very wise Shinobi clearly blessed with the Will of Fire
Welcome to a modified Narutoverse, where you are Academy Students one month away from graduating. Unless you're that blond kid who keeps saying that he'll become Hokage and looks like a carbon copy of the Yondaime. If you're that kid, you have a year and a traumatic experience before that happens. Anyways, you Academy Students are in the graduating class that contains prodigies in being the epitome of a Hyuuga like Neji Hyuuga, in the art of throwing pointy stuff like that panda-looking girl in the third seat from the left in the second row, or in just being the best ninja ever that can't use chakra. But hey, he can still be the very best Taijustu Master there ever was. But enough about those assuredly mentally deranged persons, this is your time to shine, to be amazingly awesome, to save countries and princesses from the evils of venture capitalism, and, most importantly, to catch Tora! Have Fun!Rule 1: The GM is always right.
Rule 2: When the GM is wrong, refer to Rule 1.
Rule 3: Do not complain about unfairness. You are a ninja, nothing you ever do while in the confines of the game will ever be fair.
Rule 4: Refrain from commenting on canon status of things. as far as I know Mangekyou Sharingan is the highest level of Sharingan, no matter what Kishimoto says or does.
Rule 5: 99% of the stuff I, in the capacity of being the GM, is not of my own mind.
Disclaimer: Naruto and other stuff belongs to Kishimoto or someone else and is not under the ownership of me.
Mostly standard RTD stuff going on here, nothing revolutionary. Then again, I'm a ninja, you're a ninja, everyone's a ninja. Don't thin that anything will be straightforward or even make sense.
Rolls and What They Do:
6: Congratulations, you overshot on your luck roll; ie: You have implanted Orochi-teme's cells into your body and a snake is now growing out of your belly button. Whether that's a good or bad thing, you have no idea.
5: You have obtained victory in your effort and can only expect great things to come from this awesome thing you have accomplished.
4: You've done exactly what you've wanted to do within the limits of your abilities.
3: Well, you haven't messed anything up, but you haven't helped anything along either.
2: Well, you've messed things up, but you can fix it. Somehow.
1: You done goofed. Probably lost an arm or two.
Taijutsu: The ability to use the body to its fullest extent, to effectively dodge the fastest of assaults, an how to exploit the openings of your enemies. Taijutsu is an art that takes many years of hard work and sweat in order to protect against a Taijutsu Master for more than a few seconds. The Body Techniques are a way of fighting available to everyone yet only masterable by a few. Yet, in the hands of a master, Taijutsu becomes a weapon of unmatched effectiveness that let's a ninja finish a fight before the enemy has even known it had started.
Ninjutsu: Flashy techniques such as shooting fireballs and impaling people on blades of lightning. By far the most respected way of murder among the circles of ninja. Subtlety is possible through unorthodox ways of manipulating chakra. Ninjutsu masters are often limiting to their own elemental affinities, ranging from wind, water, earth, lightning, and fire. Most Bloodlines are often focused on letting its inheritors instinctually know how to combine separate chakra elements in order to create more advanced chakra elements like ice or lava.
Genjutsu: The ability to fight without fighting, truly one of the more obscure ways of killing someone out of the fields of battle. Even though learning how to use genjutsu is the second hardest ninja discipline to learn, yet the rewards are subtle yet very awe-inspiring. If you wish to see the pinnacle of genjutsu mastery, you need look no further than Itachi Uchiha, a genjutsu Master who can ensnare you into of world of his only making by having you look at his finger.
Fuuinjutsu: The art of using and making seals to do awe-inspiring tasks such as, but not limited to: sealing sentient masses of chakra within babies, simulating the effects of an explosion via using paper and ink, manipulating time and space in order to instantaneously teleport to predetermined locations, or even just sealing extraneous stuff into a pocket dimension. Two of the aforementioned tasks can be accomplished by low-level sealers and are readily available to every ninja. While sealing is a very useful art, it is extremely hard to self-learn. Many a new ninja have been sucked into their own pocket dimensions and have been a test subject for their own explosive tags because of the extreme difficulty associated with self-learning fuuinjutsu. However, if one were to pass these hurdles, one only need to look to the Yondaime Hokage's feats to what a Seal Master can do.
Bukijutsu: The Weapon techniques, aka, how to poke people with sharp and pointy stuff and/or how to bash people upside the face with blunt sticks. Kenjutsu masters and bojutsu masters are an effective force on the battlefield. The number of disciplines are nearly limitless when you are taking into account the coordination needed to be a ninja. Note: Shurikenjutsu is included free of charge.
