((Uh, bump. I really don't have any suggestions right now, maybe after some others have posted I'll think of something.))

Ask if the cove has any boulders. We need those for strength.

((Sorry for not posting the past couple of days, doing a seminar this week and it's pretty brain intensive.  I'll probably churn out an update Friday-ish.))

((Bump))
Hm.
A map would be wonderful, but...
I forgot the deal with explosives.
Would we be able to plant explosives at the armories?
I think that's be good.
It'd provide a distraction AND destroy/bury some of their weapons.
Plus draw them away.
The question is, would it be more worth doing that, or taking out part of the barracks?

((Well this is a thing I wasn't expecting to get unburied.  I'll work up an update for tomorrow to get this rolling again, sorry about the random hiatus.  Games and random things at work, along with a plague of headaches there for a while, kinda drained my motivation.))

“If you could hit one of the southern armories, or even one of the barracks in south-western quarter of the city, it would do wonders for us.”

“Aaahh, ssso you want usss to pull the Ssskrellitsss away from the north-eassst.”  Morbal leaned back in his chair and drained the glass that he had been staring at for the past while.  He looked wistfully into the glass whilst turning it over in his hands.  Ustris could only imagine what was going through his head at this point.  “Aye.  We do be able to do thisss that you asssk.  Do remember your promisssesss when thisss isss through, however.”

Ustris nodded.   “You have my word.  Kleine and I will travel across the city to the Champion’s palace tonight.  If all goes well, we should be back before the morning with another Shard in our possession.”

“Fortune be with usss thisss night.”  Morbal said.  Ustris couldn’t tell if it was a proclamation or a prayer to his God.

Shortly after a couple of the Naga left the warehouse with barrels strapped to their backs, Ustris and Kleine followed an anxious human out of the warehouse.  The man with them was the one who had reported earlier, when he heard that the two of them were leaving for the Champion’s palace he immediately told them he could guide them there.  Not wanting to make too much of a scene they agreed readily and after a few moments of preparations were sneaking off towards the north-eastern quarter of the city.

The streets were mostly empty here, all of the Skrellits had retired for the night.  The only people who still roamed the streets were human servants whom were busy with errands, none of which gave Ustris or Kleine a second glance.  No guard patrols stopped them, or were even close enough for them to hear.  The entire quarter seemed completely relaxed and off-guard as they walked through un-prohibited.

Soon after entering the district the scout pointed at a building much larger than the ones around it.  “That’s the one boss.  We haven’t been able to get in there yet, or talk to any of the servants inside, but that’s the one he’s in.”

It was an impressive sight, a three story building surrounded by a well-kempt garden out front.  Banners could be seen hanging from a few of the windows, along with two flying above the house as well.  One of the banners was the symbol of Libra, the other had to be a personal banner of the Champion.  The main doors to the house were wide enough to accept some of the wagons he had seen from the days when he had been in the ore mines, easily tall enough for three humans standing on each other’s shoulders to walk into, and wide enough for five men abreast.  Ustris thought that the palace could probably fit two of the warehouses in it with room to spare.

“If it’s alright with you, boss, I’d rather sit out here and wait for you.  I’d probably just slow you down.”

    “Of course.”

“Hide yourself, make sure you aren’t seen.”

“Right, my lady.”  The scout bobbed his head and scurried off into a nearby alleyway.  Ustris was fixated on the palace however, he was looking for a place to enter.

Sure, servants are easier to kill than guards. +1

:T I dunno, you would think it would be watched or something.
Are there any open windows with ways to climb up to them?

Ustris began walking east around the palace, keeping to the shadows where he could.  Soon enough he came upon a small side entrance with light spilling out into the night.  As he crept towards it, he could hear talking coming from within.  It sounded like someone barking out orders but he couldn’t hear it clearly.  It sounded muffled, as if from behind a door.

Kleine went to the west, looking for any open windows or easy entrances on the upper stories.  Most of the windows she passed by had light pouring through them and completely smooth walls underneath.   She passed two balconies during her reconnaissance, one of which had the doors open, but she could hear voices coming from inside.  The other balcony’s doors were closed, but the room behind it was dark.  She continued onwards and eventually found a wall etched by the sand with a darkened window on the third story.  She hazarded a guess that she could climb the wall, and possibly Ustris too if he decided to go with her.

OOC:  Shorter updates for the next parts.  Since this is an infiltration thing and whatnot I'm going to let you guys steer.  What do you guys want to do?

(I'll also be uploading a ridiculously crude paint drawing just to basically show the floor plan that you guys have discovered at the time.  That will have to wait until I get back to my home though, can't really use imgur at work.)

Ustris peeked his head into the lit room, his eyes adjusting quickly.  Inside he found it to be a small hallway with a closed door through which he could hear voices.  There were shoes and cloaks lining the right side of the hallway, all of which seemed to be human sized.  Ustris was about explore this entrance before Jeeves alerted him that "the lady might have a simpler entry point."  He backed out of the hallway, circling back around the house until he saw Kleine lying in a patch of flowers planted close to the palace.

"Going to laze about all night, are we?"

"Only as long as it takes you to catch up."  Kleine sat up, her hood falling back to expose four white flowers braided into her hair.  Ustris looked back at the patch of flowers, surprised to find them yellow.  Where had she grabbed those flowers from?  He didn't see any patches of that color anywhere.  "Our way up is there."  Kleine gestured towards the rough wall with the window at the top. "Think you can make it?"

"It's a little steep, can you make handholds for me as I go up?"

"You could probably gouge your own handholds with your fingers, but I suppose I could make it easier for you."  Kleine grabbed a quarrel from her already drawn crossbow.  She looked away for only a split second, but there was already another in its place.  It had been like that the entire time she had been practicing, no matter how many quarrels she used there would always be another.

She approached the wall and began to climb.  Before long she had already reached the window.  She pushed against the panes and found it locked.  She shifted her weight and changed her grip on the casement and jammed the quarrel in the side opposite the latch.  The latch broke quickly, the panes swinging inwards.  She scrambled inside and drew her crossbow, scouting the area and waiting for Ustris to climb up.

The third floor of the palace was open walled with a large circular opening that took up most of the floor overlooking a large courtyard.  A few chandeliers hung from the ceiling up here, along with a few braziers scattered about, but none were lit and the entire floor seemed empty.  A couple of minutes passed and Ustris squeezed through the window, his broad frame struggling to pass through the small portal.  After he was safely inside, he dusted himself off and looked around.

   Where to now?

OOC:  If you've played Payday 2 and ever gone on the Big Bank heist, the third floor looks a lot like the second floor of the front portion of the bank, just circular and the floors below it are mostly solid.  There are a couple of windows peeking into the courtyard though.  Also there's an opening in the roof that follows the opening of the floor.

Anyway, where to now?
