Tau are cool and stuff.  yaaay. :P

Though actually I do dig their caste system for reasons.  I also like the supposed equality (excepting the Ethereals, who guide) and structure.
Earth caste best ca "Everyone Has An Important Job To Do"
(Earth caste totally would have won, but Tau'Va is better than a world devastated by total war!)
Somebody has to look on.

Ideally, a real communistic society would divvy all the heavy planning and thinking, the burdens and emotions; to this one caste/group.  So basically tyranids.

Thinking to start playing Tau. Can mostly use my mate's army, plus one ghostkeel and... Uh... Heavy support.

Dunno whether to go hammerhead or broadside. Need it for the grand detatchment core formation.

Depends on how mobile you need your force to be; are you more gunline or more strike force?

I would want to officially request you to move your attention from filthy Tau to the glorious Imperial Inqusition.

Ahem: Kot, Men are talking.
All the inquisition armies are taken

Probably more gunline. But I assume both have the range to work it.

Am thinking Broadside for now just in case I wanna go hammerheads-skyray formation later.
But S10AP1 just so...

Really depends on what you expect their role to be, then. Do you need light-armor-killer or medium-armor+infantry killer?

I would personally recommend Hammerhead, since you can Longstrike it if necessary with custom character counts-as and so on, and Ionheads are great for trolling Space Mehreens, but Broadsides are always nice.

I would personally advise looking into how much it would cost you to expand a force before deciding things. The Tau Start Collecting box isn't terrible. Crisis suits are always useful, Fire Warriors aren't bad as Troops go. The Ethereal is less than good, but there's worse thing out there.

Though honestly the best army from a financial perspective is the various flavours of Imperial Marines. The Imperium armies are very easy to expand cheaply since they can slot in stuff from multiple codexes at once since they're all Battle Brothers under the allies system, so you can use anything you can get cheap off of ebay or GW deals, which is usually harder for Chaos and the various Xenos. Plus they get stupid stuff like Thunderwolves, with a Sanguinary Priest, a Chaplain and a Wolf Lord all rushing forward on wolves or bikes being damn nuisances to kill.

Orbital Plates look like this, and there are some things above the surface when we see Terra from orbit, so I guess there are?
