They don't need the extra space for their bollocks; only the infantry have bollocks that have a mass greater than the average :P

But I gave it a shot.
I can work with that.

That's because they're not weighed down by all the awesome Imperial armor has.

I think you might want to check if any medications you're taking conflict with each other....

Speaking of, among the most horrid FAQ's that games workshop brought out include:
"What happens if a tank attempts to tank-shock (ram) a stormsurge which is clamped down?"
"The stormsurge is removed from play"

Which is scary.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Why? The most Tank-Heavy faction, the Imperial Guard, is mad enough to try that and succeed. Remember that Commissar Dan (as Commissar Daniel Sterne, Enemies of the Imperium, page 116), amongst other things, is also canon.
CHARGE YOU PIG FUCKERS, CHARGE THAT STORMSURGE WITH A BASILISK! FOR THE EMPEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

It's pretty dumb, I've gotta say.

It's not even the chance for Death or Glory, which I would expect, from the sounds of it.

Huh. Y'know, I'd never actually seen a stormsurge before.

That thing is straight out of battletech. Kinda' like a maruader and an archer or something had a love child. Wonder if you can add dimension hopping to the tau list of tech heresy...

Honestly, funniest part of Stormsurges is that they're almost straight from Rifts in concept.

Look up 'Glitter Boy Rifts'. Or Glitter Boy. Thankfully, you won't be assaulted by the images you would expect at first.

I... can sorta' see it, actually. No need to look up, though, I know what a glitter boy is :P

Don't recall the missiley bits on 'em, though. Remember 'em looking kinda' like... some other battlemech, actually. Want to say one of the transforming ones? Eh. It's been a while since I've seen art of the things, so m'probably forgetting somethin'. Mostly remember blue and gold and not much else, from that one fairly well done pic of a glitter boy (that might have been official art?) from... years ago. Several years.

... now I'm kinda' curious how an imperium force landing in rifts land would handle itself. It's definitely a setting with enough punch beakies or whatev' wouldn't trivialize the place. Probably some shit in the RIFTS verse that could eat imperial titans without much trouble...

E: also half wondering how megadamage would translate if it was ruled into the 40k tabletop. Something akin to those invincibility save whatsits or whatever they are?

The missiles are new, but the irony is mostly that Rifts is notorious for ripping basically everything else off, which usually GW hates the idea of someone doing to them.

Thing about Rifts is that while it doesn't have the same level of sheer ridiculous over-the-top bullshit in terms of tech, it's way up there in terms of magic, magic is everywhere, and it's plenty reliable enough compared to 40k to fuck you up good. Oh, and everything can fly. My parents met via roleplaying; their decade long Rifts campaign ended with taking over a hell dimension. Lasguns are also probably worthless, Bolters basically fire shitty minimissiles, and Space Marines probably only barely count as MDC, if that.

Glitter boys are mostly chrome, considering that's where they get their name :P All mirrored up to reflect lasers.
