Because the holder isn't an outlet for the psychic field that makes it work. That said, sometimes it does work. For example, if an Ork sees you doing it, or if you have a reputation as a friend/enemy of the Orks. The more refined Ork technology (it exists) also really does work occasionally, and as such will work for anybody.
Their belief becomes reality.
Orks are like magnets. Orks attract more orks to one another. And like magnets, when more are together the strength of their magnetic/orky fields increase.
Yarrick for example, may be under the protective watch of the Emperor, Gork and Mork. The former because he's commissar as fuck, the latter because the Orks believe he's an unkillable ork slayer. Yarrick even reinforced these beliefs and rumours; the Orks believed Yarrick could kill an ork just by looking at them so he had one of his eyes replaced with what's equivalent to a hotshot sniper rifle. So everything one of the largest waaaghs ever believes is making this man immortal.

Here's hoping the FLGS will have metallic paint.
Doing a necron army at the moment and if I can't spray/airbrush them, they just aren't worth doing.

So apparently Boltgun Metal flavored spray sold out in just under a day.
Sigh.

Must have been all the War Boys from Fury Road buying it up.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

That's a lot of things to mention while ignoring the fact that Yarrick can kind of, you know, auto-resurrect thanks to the Orks.

Apparently, the easiest way to reach eternal life in Warhammer 40K universe is to convince the orks that you are immortal.

Play Dark Eldar, because I'm playing as their counterparts in CKII right now and I've recently developed a sort of grudging respect for them.

Against...Tau.

Kay then, blueberry corpses it is!

I concur, Tau vs Dark Eldar?

Would you like to organise a multiplayer game? I think I can still run the previous version of UA (1.73 I believe).

A very kind offer, but not right now, bit of a bad moment for setting up multiplayer matches.

Isn't this portion of space more psychically active though, what with all the psykers here? Like how the area around the eye is more under the influence of Chaos. I could imagine the warp is much calmer once you leave this portion of the universe.

The Warp stops existing a short way out from the galaxy apparently, it's why no one leaves. Though apparently there are a bunch of Ork comm signals coming in from outside the galaxy, and also the Tyranids.

Wouldn't a merely calmer warp also severely impede or stop people from leaving. Instead of a fast flowing stream it's a frozen lake.

Don't think so, the Warp was very calm before the war between the Old Ones and the Necrons, and it seemed to make stuff involving it easier rather than harder if Old One's construction of the webway is any indication.

No, I'm pretty sure he's always had that one - seeing as he was pulling it off before he got famous.

Is it possible that it was just Yarrick being tough as nails, and his reputation spreading amongst the Orks making his toughness AMPLIFIED in true noise marine fashion?
