Managers need to validate work orders at an office when the population is beyond 20 or something. I guess having more of them will make the job list more responsive.

Anyway, it is cool that humans turned out to be something special. All the manual would need is a list of traders and show, with their effects and a list of each guild.

And what each workshop does. ;)

I havent even started on cannons, and knights and mercenaries and all that combat related stuff.

I added the anti-cave adaption to the human creature file. They are now slowed down when they stay underground more than one ingame day, and get dizzy after 1 week. 2-3 weeks it gets worse... I might add boogyemen and nighthags that spawn when you stay even longer underground. These should instantly die when they get to aboveground/light tiles. I might add a "torch" item, which is actually a shield which makes soldiers immune to such effects. This way you can have soldiers that fight in the caverns without getting slow/dizzy/insane.

Almost sounds like strip mining is the way to go.

How will this work? If a human mines underground for 23 hours but then walks under an open shaft that is considered outside, will the timer just reset?

The timer will reset, but the effect, if already started, might linger for a little bit. About a week.

Edit: Actually, I am not sure if the timer decreases 1 for each 1 tick that the unit is outside, or if its set to 0 directly. I have no way of testing that.

In that case I also could make brokers, managers and bookkeepers AS_NEEDED, instead of 1. I dont think managers actually do anything, besides unlocking the screen, and bookkeepers certainly dont do anything after the first 3-4 months that you need to fully get your highest precision.

That'd be equivalently reasonable, of course.  The only difference is flavor, really; masterwork races tend to have nobles with different names and slightly-different appointment/role setups.  It's really not a huge deal either way, it's just a matter of presentation.

human nobles are exactly the vanilla nobles, just like dwarven nobles are the same as in vanilla. the only addition is the psychiatrist, or in the human case the Bureaucrats.

Humans have slightly different names in 3 cases: chief medical dwarf is chief of medicine. expedition leader is caravan leader. liaison is guild representative.

Done. All 10 race-specific merchants have 10 unique trade goods. :)

Most of them are straightforward, but a few I want to mention: You can ransom hostages from goblins, giving you more workers. Monoliths act like your own necromancers, kobold trading is pretty hit and miss, especially their toad shots, which is a very special drink. Dwarven tears and bloods of armok give access to water and magma spawning, while elven songs can regrow all grass and trees on the map. Gnomish cage-o-matics are ranged weapons that shoot cages and trap targets, and the human trader can sell race-specific contracts. This can unlock race-workshops you otherwise cant access, because the race might have died out.

What's the point of buying pylons from warlocks?

The caravans from warlocks might turn on you, if they stay too long. Set up a pylon next to the depot to counter that.

could you use a caged warlock to power a pylon network?

A crap, true, without a warlock the pylon is unpowered. Forgot about that. I'll replace the reaction, give them something else for it.

I think you should consider removing OTL from skeletons, I admit it is a cool feature, but it causes many problems and setting up pylon network that keeps skeletons under control in whole tower/ dungeon is really easy. Maybe skeletons by default would be slower and pylons/warlocks would buff them to normal speed? I don't know if this is possible if not sorry for my incompetence :P

This has nothing to do here, but anyway: The reason for the pylons is to stop people from walling in skeletons and never failing their fort, because the skeleton doesnt die of natural causes, ever.

for the "my traders came with skeletons that turn OTL":

Cant you make warlock pack animals (the prisoners) have the same abilities as warlocks?, im not sure you saw my suggestion last time this issue came up. its hardly game breaking, even for warlocks... since your changing them to use tools instead next version...

Also, we're gonna argue them prices cause i like the idea of clear glass blocks, but not at the same price as obsidian blocks. at least its not as expensive as clay (kalonite? for real 5500?)

aaaand if your gonna change the pylon, how about adding in "buy a Ghoul" i'd PERFER  skeleton. but... issues

They are boulders. 25 boulders = 100 blocks of kaolinite. They are actually cheaper.

Edit: removed the pylon, added "Buy pain elemental for 4500 sovereigns"
