She saw Overbeck smoking and gestured towards the stump she held.
"You wanting this back, Chief?"

"Toss it. It's nearly gone anyways."

Not one to waste good tobacco, she slid it into a pocket. Hey, cigars were expensive, and this was a good brand. She'd smoke it later.
"Actually, mind if I smoke as well, Chief?" [color]

[Nerjin]

"I don't mind. Need a light?" Captain Overbeck said offering a match to the woman before Overbeck's phone rang. "One moment. Captain Overbeck speaking... Yes..." Captain Overbeck sighed heavily "Get here as soon as you can." Slamming the phone back down on the receiver Captain Overbeck looked at each STARS member in turn "Are any of you familiar with Agent Johnson?"

She gratefully proffered the cigar stub for lighting before taking a drag.
"Ahhh~
I think I met him, once. He's the one with the lady's hairdo, isn't he? White guy with black hair?"

[Nerjin]

Flipping open a folder Captain Overbeck looked at a photo briefly before saying "It appears that way yes. Though the file says nothing about being so late."

"Agent Johnson? You mean the guy who has a quick temper and tries to avoid work if he can? Worked with him a couple of times, but not much else I can say. Propably just snoozing off right now, like usual."

[Nerjin]

"That was actually him. He's going to be late to this meeting a bit. I suppose that means we should get started. How much have you been briefed already?"

[GiglameshDespair]

"Between nothing and zero."

"I have not yet been briefed, ma'am." Serana said quietly.

"Haven't been briefed about this at all, ma'am."

A panicked looking Mr.Johnson burst into the room.
"Sorry sir! My family made me go to a festival with them and I just got away."

Harvey looks at the smoking woman for a moment before responding.

"Ever had several hundred thousand people try to eat you alive at once? Or fought outnumbered hundreds to one by an enemy that feels no pain and will shrug off almost all wounds?
True a kid did escape, a few did in fact and for every one who did a 1000 died. A fraction of the cities population survived and a fraction of a fraction of the armed men who went in came back out. Ever wonder why S.T.A.R.S began recruit from outside of its original pool of recruits?

They're dead and it wasn't the infected who got most of them. Infected don't scare me it's what they foreshadow that I'm afraid of. The things that never made it into the reports. "

"Between nothing and zero."

"I have not yet been briefed, ma'am." Serana said quietly.

"Haven't been briefed about this at all, ma'am."

"Well fr-" Captain Overbeck began before-

"I'm glad you had fun then. It might be the last bit of fun you have for quite some time if Agent Bekter is correct. Regardless, we have received several reports from inside sources that the Arklay Anarchists are likely planning something big. Far bigger than their usual exploits. Fucking bastards..." Captain Overbeck snarled as she took a large puff from her cigar. It was well known that the Arklay Anarchists were a bio-terrorist group that had caused several minor outbreaks in an attempt to force anarchy upon the United States. So far they had been unsuccesful in doing anything but getting their members killed and transforming a small rural town into a shadow of its former self.

"I'm sure you are all familiar with their work. That being said this doesn't fit their usual M.O. They usually bring themselves into the lime-light as soon as possible. We suspect they may be working with another group though we can't identify whom. YOUR job, however, is to go to Ulados and handle this outbreak before it begins. We'd usually send a large task-force in there but STARS is the best of the best." Captain Overbeck smiled lightly in an attempt to instill confidence in her new subordinates. Unfortunately the fear was plain in her eyes. "We'll be flying you, via civilian helicoptor, into Ulados. Then you will take two cars, provided by us, to the AA's hideout. Get inside, kill any BOWs, gather as much evidence as you can, arrest any AA members inside, and then leave. Should be a cake-walk right?"

This seemed to give Captain Overbeck pause for a few seconds. "There hasn't been an outbreak yet. You are going to prevent it. All of you are going to prevent it. Everything will be fine..." she said.

[Perception] However well she tries to hide it, you can tell Captain Overbeck is beginning to feel worried.

Harvey chuckles mirthlessly.

"Or die trying right?"
