I'd say keep going from now.  You have a rare event in it, due to GreatWyrmGold having been banned, which you can exploit into some story elements.

You might be able to get in as a second-year or something, or else a first-year from entry exams being conducted in a different location.  I mean, it's subject to GM approval, but I can see ways a new player can be brought in if 6 players isn't already the cap.

There were NPC exams, so he could have just been in one of those, with dorm randomly assigned between the three god dorms.
